Good basic accommodation in a convenient location with easy access to the motorway. A little out of the town so quiet and with plenty of free parking. Rooms are basic but clean with a good shower and the added bonus of a fridge so you can store your own food as well as the yogurt milk and fruit juice they... More

Stayed here for a friends party. Front of house staff (Michael) rude, unhelpful ,disinterested and arrogant! Almost like you are interrupting his day by staying there. Not once asked if the room was ok or if we were enjoying our stay.. Even when we checked out. Couldn't care less! Rooms are very basic .. Bit like a hostel standard .... More

This isn't the first time we have stayed at the Riverside Hotel as it's close to where our daughter lives. We arrived before I had specified but it wasn't a problem and we were told which was our room. It was on the ground floor opposite the main entrance. Ok so the room is dated but it appeared pretty clean.... More

The first impressions of this Hotel is not too bad. Appearance on the outside is good. Staff are friendly. We dropped our bags off and did not return until late. The bed was most uncomfortable and could do with a new matress. It was like sleeping on hard concrete, springs had gone, we woke several times in the night and... More

"Would you like a morning call and a newspaper Madam?" Is not what you'll hear when checking in, at the Riverside Hotel. This is not a question you'll be asked by the receptionist. They'll ask the booking name, ask for payment and give you a key. They'll not ask "would you like a hand with your bags?" too. Once in... More

Stayed for one night as a family. The room was large warm and clean. The breakfast was good and was a nice surprise in terms of how varied and complete it was. The locals, and, in particular Mike the manager were warm and welcoming and very hospitable. A very enjoyable stay and we aim to return. :)

A hotel which hasn't had any investment for a long time. . Run down, old fashioned. Doesn't serve food. Best used for commuting only for blokes. Has the potential to be upgraded, dirty rusty chairs laying around outside, gardens unkept, but could be nice! Next to a river, so there is potential to use this as a feature, but they... More
