We booked the bed and breakfast for our family of 5 and, as one of the cottages was free, we were upgraded to a lovely cottage with lots of room for us all. The owners are really welcoming. The cottage was spotlessly clean, cosy and warm, comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast before we left. A great place to stay... More

Me and three friends stayed here when completing the c2c cycle ride and were blown away with the friendly welcome, the high quality evening meal and exemplary breakfast, along with fabulous, comfortable accommodation. Jan and Harry made us feel at home in their home, and we were all delighted to have chosen to stay here. We arrived for a three... More

We had week long stay in this cottage in May. The cottage is extremely spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed. The photographs on the website do not do it justice. The owners Jan and Harry have adapted it to make it easily accessible for wheelchair users or those with reduced mobility, there is a roll in shower in one of... More

We stayed in this comfy, cosy farmhouse it was a real home from home experience. We had a lovely warm welcome from Jan and Harry who were very informative about the surrounding area suggesting places to visit. The double room we stayed in was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The home cooked food was great especially... More

We stayed in Alice's cottage for one night whilst doing the coast to coast cycle ride in September. It was a great little find. Beautiful setting, clean and cosy cottage and delicious food served at the farmhouse. Just what we needed! Our hosts Harry and Jan were great... We would definitely return especially for the award winning beef pie!

I have stayed at the Farmhouse for B&B and also in the self catering cottages. I can't fault either. Both are run by Jan & Harry alongside their small farm, specialising in Prize-winning Hereford cattle. They should also win no end of prizes for their accommodation. Five star ratings for everything including the home made bread & marmalade at breakfast.... More

My Daughter and I stayed in Alice Cottage for four nights and was well pleased when we opened the door to the spotlessly clean and spacious cottage. We weren't greeted by the owners, as they were out when we arrived, but waiting for us were some lovely fruit scones and Harry's homemade rhubarb and ginger preserve, which was delicious. I... More

Lovely location, fabulous welcome and more than we could have asked for in terms of food and rest. Walked for two whole days from farm house with plenty of interest. Nearby walks in Allendale ended at lovely cafes. Unspoilt and quite, a really good change from the lake district. We will be back

A family trip from London while we were on the Sea to Sea cycle route across the Pennines, we stayed for two nights. It is such a comfortable house to stay in, wonderful location with great views, and very quiet. The beds, bathrooms and meals were all first rate. The rooms are very welcoming and well furnished. We ate in... More
