We had two excellent nights in cold wet February . From my initial enquiry all staff were super friendly and helpful and this was the same when we stayed. The lounge is festooned with thank you cards which from our findings were fully justified. Our room was enormous with a superking bed and felt cosy and welcoming. We were on... More

We have just had a wonderful dinner party at our house in Birkdale, Southport for 14 diners. Hazel, our chef, visited us before the dinner and finalised the menu. About two hours before the dinner Hazel and her staff came to lay the table and check everything was in place. Our guests were thrilled with the whole evening starting from... More

The rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. There is a pleasant lounge and garden and the hotel has a very welcoming feel to it. The hotel is close to Hesketh Park and about 15-20 min walk to Southport town centre. We were initially given the Regency Suite but... More

I went with my husband on Sunday 21st and had a very relaxed lovely lunch at the Cambridge House Hotel. We have been coming to this hotel for food for over three years ago having previously stayed here when we were house hunting in Southport and moving from South to North. Always attentive and welcoming is what we have come... More

Stayed at this Hotel 13/10/2012 with my Neice and her Husband for one night to go shopping and to go out Saturday night. I booked this Hotel as I could not get anything in the town center without a hefty price tag and after reading comments on tripadvisor. Our room, No.5 was OK but my companions room No6 was not... I stayed here on business for two nights. Food was very good with a varied choice and beautifully cooked and presented. My room was large but the en-suite a bit cramped but all very clean and tidy. Odd to have a bed with sheets and blankets but it was large and comfortable. Annoyingly had blinds at the window which didn't... More

This property has some excellent points but it also has some minor drawbacks. There is construction going on next door but one. The pile driver starts at 9am sharp. Not noisy but the whole place shudders with each blow. Not a problem if you are going out for the day but irritating if you want to rest in bed. The... More

Excellent hotel run by a caring owner and wonderfull staff who are very cheerful all the time. Food is very very good and cooked personally by the owner. The food is very varied with only fresh produce used. Rooms are very large and comfortable but need a little TLC to decoration. Nevertheless they are very good. Highly recommended and excellent... My wife and two friends booked for lunch last Sunday, 9 Sep. The hotel facade and tiny lobby were rundown and so unwelcoming that we almost left. However, we were eventually greeted and shown into the small bar. The ladies enjoyed their drinks but the 3 beers on offer, tinned Boddingtons, bottled Becks or Budweiser, could not have been worse... More
