Nice hotel that takes dogs which is what we needed however...on leaving we were charged another £25 per night!!! An extra half of original price! Having booked this hotel online at £50 per night with the offer of a 'free' breakfast. So...BEWARE of being ripped off! I did query this, to be told it is all part of the charge.....what... More

I am very surprised at your comments, you booked your room through Booking.Com and received a confirmation clearly stating the cost of the room for single occupancy (£50) and also the cost if more than one person used the room (£75) you also sent a message to the hotel via Booking.com stating that your teenage daughter would be staying in... Overall this hotel offered excellent value for money comfy bed and friendly staff. lovely well decorated room with antique bed. Disappointed with bathroom and towels. Good standard of cleanliness but need to remove some of the plants from public areas. And give guests information on local and hotel facilities.

I've been meaning to enter a review for months now...so hear it is. We booked the Cambridge House because I have mobility problems and can't climb stair and we had a dog - a beautiful cavalier KC spaniel - at the time, sadly no longer with us. We found the hotel easily on Cambridge Road in Southport, a huge Victorian... More

Stayed again on Boxing Day night at the Cambridge Hotel as my daughters house around the corner was full of guests. Hesketh Suite was lovely and warm, four poster bed (not since my honeymoon!) and the 'Cambridge Bear' was sitting on the comfortable bed. Following morning (the best bit) is a full English breakfast properly cooked with the best quality... More

Stayed at this hotel for B+B at the end of November 2014. Large comfortable room, helpful staff and nice breakfast. Enjoyed a restful three days together with the delights of Southport. Will stay again!

We recently had a Sunday Lunch her on a local recommendation but it was very disappointing given the dining room required a good clean up coupled with a very poor Sunday lunch for the price .It lacked the professional touch re attention and quality of food presented to us . Sorry to report this as it is very local to... More

This was a very average hotel with plus and minus points. There is plenty of private parking on the front and the staff were very friendly. The room was large and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was ok, normal fare cooked adequately - I was a little disappointed as I ordered kippers and being at a seaside resort expected fresh... More

I needed a hotel near to my daughters house in Southport and have driven past the Canbridge many times so thought I would book it for the Sunday evening. I was offered a rate of £55 including breakfast that seemed good value. When I checked in the hotel was busy serving sunday lunches to locals (who seem to have a... More

Cambridge did us a 90th birthday lunch on Sunday. The staff were lovely, the room was set out beautifully and the food and service were excellent. Haven't heard a bad word from any of the 33 people who went. 6 of us on our table had lamb, and we were all happy! Drinks in the lounge first were ordered and... More
