We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, a shopping week end in Southport. My friend is disabled and had rang the hotel prior to our arrival to reserve a parking place. The place was reserved as requested. On checking into the hotel. I have never come across such unfriendly staff. I asked the receptionist if he enjoyed his job…... more

We booked this hotel because it was on a list of accommodation suggestions for a wedding we were going to in Formby. We thought it would be great as it has an on-site swimming pool and we have two young children to entertain (6 and 1). We had booked a family room and had been notified of 'some noise' to... more

We stayed for two nights in the hotel. We had been warned that there was only limited parking due to renovations we parked on the street overnight (free) and then found a spot in the hotel carpark the next morning. Our room was clean and well equipped if a little worn round the edges. The pool and spar are excellent.... more

A group of us (25) attending a Rotary Conference, stayed for two nights in the hotel. We had been warned that there was only limited parking due to renovations and that was certainly true. I was fortunate in finding a spot in the hotel, arriving at 1pm, but later arrivals in the party had difficulty. I believe there was an... more

We stayed here for one night after the Southport Air Show, and I really can't think of anything to complain about. Our room was spacious, clean and well-equipped, check-in took about 2 minutes, and the staff were all friendly and efficient. The pub downstairs, (the Baron's Bar) is good for real ale, but always crowded. Instead, we discovered the cocktail... more

Not just a speck either, a full blown covering of dust. Paid extra for a room upgrade, waste of money. Tiny bed, noisy-windows don't shut properly. The hotel is very dated and in need of a serious makeover. The staff were however very nice. more

We were looking to stay in a hotel for 3 nights but checked out after 1 night. The rooms are a great size and clean, 99% of the staff very nice and the food is fantastic. I think the reason you can get dinner bed & breakfast for such a low price is the noise from the surrounding bars which... more

My first impression was not good when walked through doors, thought it was old fashioned and there were loads of old people (no offence), but when we went to room, which was quite a walk from lift, we were pleasantly surprised. Then things just got better. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant, they couldn't do enough. Even receptionist... more

We arrived at this hotel and our first impressions made us think it was a bit dated. However, when we entered our rooms we rrealised they had recently be redecorated. You first feel this is a hotel best suited to the older person, looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, which up until around 9.00 p.m. is about right. It is... more
