We wanted somewhere special to take my mum for her 80th Birthday. We picked the Scarisbrick as it was recommended to us by friends. What a bargain -35 pound a night for dinner, bed and breakfast. The dinner was excellent and would have cost 35 on its own in other hotels. The staff were so helpful. You drive your car... more

Having won a competition to stay at the Scarisbrick, I was a little unsure of whether to stay, as I live in Southport. Having decided that I haven't stayed here before and it would be a good idea to give my opinion to potential guests, I decided to stay. Obviously I know the area and the hotel is in a... more

I stopped here in May this year as a delegate for a conference. This is my second vist to this particular hotel and it had not changed much in two years although all the rooms now have flat screen TV's. I would recommend this hotel as it is right in the middle of town, has nice views from the dining... more

We attended a private function over a Saturday & Sunday evening. The function itself was well organised and the food provided was good. However, when the party finished @ midnight as dictated by the hotel, we returned to our rooms, numbers 110 and 111 only to find that directly below them is a bar which doesn't close until 01:00 and... more

My husband and I have just got back from our 3rd weekend break at the Scarisbrick. We usually go every 12 months or so for a shopping and strolling on the seafront sort of a break The Scarisbrick is grand old lady of a hotel, and as such, there are good points but also a few not quite so good... more

I booked parent and inlaws(60's & 70s of age) into this hotel for a birthday weekend. I live very close to the hotel and know that the area is a little noisy, especially on the weekends due to nightclubs in the vicinity. I did come armed with earplugs for all concerned! I was a bit dubious about them staying in... more

We've stayed at the Scarisbrick numerous times so we know which rooms are noisiest and how much the staff are willing to help if you have the right attitude, give them a little respect and you'll get the same back. A noisy room ask if you could move - if not full they will gladly accomodate. Sometimes you have no... more

Although The Scarisbrick has an ideal centtral location, comfortable rooms and excellent staff, it was badly let down by the noise that eminates from both its own function rooms and adjacent night clubs. An ideal venue for a great night out in Southport when you can return to your room at 3am & wake all the guests up, but for... more

Having read previous reviews I was a little worried when booking a room due to other quest experience of noise from the function rooms. To ensure a quiet stay I rang the hotel a couple of days before our stay and asked for a quiet room, the staff were helpful and on arrival we were allocated a room on the... more
