Faded, paint peeling and windows that won't close properly. Floorboards that creak so badly it's embarrassing to move. Crooked pictures and holes in the wall.... I could go on. The staff were not welcoming. At breakfast we waited as per the board to no response from any staff. Eventually found a table amongst those uncleared. Not offered a drink, the... More

I stayed at this hotel with my mother and 13 year old daughter. My mother was attending a annual association get together for the weekend (mostly elderly). My mother walks with a stick and requested a disability friendly room. We were in room 31 in the basement. The room was a very good size, lots of space to move about... More

We have stayed at this hotel a few times, it is always clean, the staff are very helpful, the bar and lounge are great places to meet fellow travellers. The meals and service are excellent, always hot and plenty.

Was staying as part of a coach tour. Relative to the price paid the hotel was very good. The food was adequate, the rooms were clean. As with similar hotels that specialise in group bookings and coach parties it is somewhat tired and drab. However, you get what you pay for and the place is clean and comfortable. The staff... More

Hotel clean and staff on reception very helpful. The restaurant and service was an absolute nightmare! Self service was poorly organised and dangerous. Not enough room and guests pushing passed seated diners carrying hot soup etc. needless to say accidents happened. There were a lot of elderly and disabled guests who had difficulty carrying food.Breakfast started at 7am but dining room... More

I was working at the fantastic air show last weekend and was accommodated here from work. Upon our arrival we were met by a superb Victorian building to which that's where the superb ended. Inside was what could only be described as the celestial waiting room of Fawlty Towers! The decor had not been changed since the 70s and where... More

couldn't find any redeeming features about this hotel except maybe the splendid building and staircase which sadly is very run down. Food rubbish room so basic I felt like we had gone back to the 50's bar prices ridiculous all in all words fail me.
