Visited Penally Abbey last night with my girlfriend. Got a little lost on the way here thanks to a sat nav on its last legs but were helped in the right direction by the owner. Stayed in room number three, very comfortable, spacious and clean! We are downstairs in the restaurant and were greeted by the friendly attentive waitress'! It... More

As many reviewers have said, the hotel is a lovely building with excellent and tasteful public rooms, and spacious bedrooms. The staff are excellent too, especially Kimberley who served us for the evening meals. The reason for the "nearly" remark in the title is that the breakfast could be better. The cooked main courses are excellent, but the fruit salad... More

Ours was a contemporary room in this hotel, which is a very old building which has been restored. All public rooms are clean, smart & comfortable. Our room was reached by a steel outside staircase (with a dodgy bit at the top, where you have to mind your head), this was OK for us but not for anyone with walking... More

We came here tonight with our granddaughters to celebrate the end of their exams, the atmosphere was lovely, service excellent , and food delicious ! We had procsecco to start our evening off, then for starters we had the crab,x2 the Duck & smoked eel . For main course we had 2x veal ( which was absolutely delicious ) a... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights over a busy bank holiday weekend. I love hotels like this; friendly-but-not-fawning owners, 99.9%* immaculate housekeeping and robust cooking without too much fuss on the plate. Our room (5) was large with a view over a lovely garden, a golf course and the sea. In fact it's one of the nicest rooms I've... More

We stayed for one night recently at this charming hotel with loads of atmosphere. Our room was accessed from the balcony at the back of the main building with a view over their pretty gardens. It was stylishly decorated and spacious but we must admit to being a little disappointed with various 'basic' requirements......a strange access and locking device to... More

The new owners have worked very hard over the Winter to modernise and update much of the Hotel. There was work still in progress when we were there, but it did not hinder in any way what was a very enjoyable and pleasant break. The hotel has beautiful views over the bay towards Caldey Island and both the restaurant and... More

We have just returned from a fabulous short break at Penally Abbey Hotel. We received warm welcome and all staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is a character building set in lovely gardens which offer private areas to sit and relax with the morning papers over looking the sea. It is very close... More

Myself and my family spent an enjoyable night in this gem of a hotel tucked away in the Pembrokeshire country in the picturesque village of Penally just outside Tenby. The hotel is an old rectory on the site of an old Abbey with views of Caldy Island and the surrounding coast, our rooms were lovely with underfloor heating in the... More

We were staying in Penally for a weeks holiday and made a list of all the restaurants we intended to visit. The abbey was the first on the list, well this is what I call an evening out. We were greeted by a very nice young member of the team. After enjoying our pre dinner drinks we were escorted to... More
