The new owners have worked very hard over the Winter to modernise and update much of the Hotel. There was work still in progress when we were there, but it did not hinder in any way what was a very enjoyable and pleasant break. The hotel has beautiful views over the bay towards Caldey Island and both the restaurant and... More

We have just returned from a fabulous short break at Penally Abbey Hotel. We received warm welcome and all staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is a character building set in lovely gardens which offer private areas to sit and relax with the morning papers over looking the sea. It is very close... More

Myself and my family spent an enjoyable night in this gem of a hotel tucked away in the Pembrokeshire country in the picturesque village of Penally just outside Tenby. The hotel is an old rectory on the site of an old Abbey with views of Caldy Island and the surrounding coast, our rooms were lovely with underfloor heating in the... More

We were staying in Penally for a weeks holiday and made a list of all the restaurants we intended to visit. The abbey was the first on the list, well this is what I call an evening out. We were greeted by a very nice young member of the team. After enjoying our pre dinner drinks we were escorted to... More

This weekend a friend and I took a short break in Tenby and stayed at the Penally Abbey Hotel. The hotel is situated in the small village of Penally, about 5 miles outside Tenby itself. The postcode gets you within a short distance of the hotel on the coast road, but you need to go into the village to find... More

We spent a couple of nights at Penally Abbey over a recent weekend arriving late on a Friday night. The Superior Double room (5) we had booked was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and gorgeous views out over the bay. Dinner both evenings was very relaxed, and even though we hadn’t booked for the Saturday night a table was... More

very serene atmosphere, great rooms, great food, great staff . Decor managed to be in keeping with such an old historic building with many features still the same. love the doors that curve up at the top.The hotel has undergone a very tasteful revamp recently which is done so naturally it fits the hotel beautifully.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2015

I had Room 1 in the attic and it was gorgeous, very romantic with white wooden beams and a view to the sea. The bathroom is across a little landing and has no lock, which some people might find a bit hard work, but I loved it as it gave a little separate space to have a bath (there was... More

Room 12 is an upper floor spacious loft conversion with a partial sea view. It is accessed via a checker plate gantry, which I imagine could be a bit tricky on wet or icy days, but as it happened we had some great weather so not really a problem. The bed is massive and very comfortable, The shower and bath... More
