No longer a place to recommend to others. Called in with friends for meal and a drink. Beer tasted off. The staff unfriendly and more interested in chatting than serving guests. Food ok ish. They were not that busy had to wait ages for meals. Has it changed hands. Dont know. Wont go again.

I read the previous reviews which I think were slightly unfair. You see many establishments like this operated as a hotel during the Victorian/Edwardian era. However they are very much pubs now. I've been to 70 countries and I can safely say that this was one of the worst hotels I have ever had the misfortune to stay in, the rooms are very poor, the place is filthy, the breakfast was the worst I have ever had and the noise and the music from the Pub downstairs, plus the noise from outside...
