All the other reviewers of this well run and welcoming B&B have said most of what there is to be said, and I agree with them. We were walking a stretch of the South West Coast Path from Combe Martin to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe fitted in with the bus timetables: catch a bus from Ilfracombe to Combe Martin in the... more

Had a wonderful 4 night break at Montpelier B & B, complemented by the fantastic weather we enjoyed during our stay. Diana and Ron (not forgetting their adorable dog Max) were very welcoming and informative hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Little touches like the supply of fresh milk (rather than the awful UHT containers) and a jug of... more

Lovely B&B in a great location really cant think of any negative comments. The room was lovely and provided everything we required. The breakfast choice was great with fresh baked bread served daily along with fresh fruit and fried breakfast. The hosts were very welcoming and really made us feel welcome they provided us with information regarding places to eat... more

Just got back from Ilfracombe. Stayed in the Montpelier B&B just above the town. Great rooms, great views, lovely people! We had a last minute booking but we were made so welcome! The rooms are very up to date and stylish (only 3 though) we enjoyed a great breakfast. The couple running the B&B Diana and Ron are very nice... more

My wife and I have just returned from two nights at Montpelier and have no hesitation in recommending this excellent bed and breakfast. Our hosts were just right and very caring - even to putting de-caff tea bags in our room once they knew it was our preference. The accomodation was spotless and the breakfast superb. We were particularly fond... more

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Montpelier over the May bank holiday weekend. We had read some good reviews on the site and decided to book for 3 nights. I can't think of a negative thing to say about this wonderful place. I've stayed in so many faceless overpriced hotels and got nowhere near value... more

As the Hotel is situated on top of a very steep hill so if you like to walk this will certainly keep you fit. Diana and Ron the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Will certainly visit again. The choice of Breakfast items was excellent (Even if they didnt have it on there list they would accommodate you). Doreen and... more

We stayed just one night at this amazing B&B and wished we could have stayed more. We had a lovely room with a nice big bed, and an amazing view. There are no fridges in the rooms but our host provided fresh milk in the evening if you wanted tea etc. The breakfast was excellent. I really enjoyed the fruit... more

We have family in Ilfracombe but choose to stay at Montpelier because we're guaranteed a warm welcome, a gorgeous room and a breakfast that will mean lunch becomes optional!!! The B&B is situated just a few mins walk away from the high street with the stroll up taking you above the hustle and bustle which is perfect for us. The... more
