Looking at the brochure in January after a wet xmas 2008 was a huge mistake as all the pictures looked so welcoming - Sadly we were misled. We paid approx £900 for a so-called Royal Gold Bungalow. For that money we expected the high standards we had been used to before at other caravan parks. For that £900 we received... more

First, the brochure and the website are misleading. Supposedly the rooms were 50% off, (but still cost £700 per week). I would have felt hard done by if I'd only paid £500 per week and there's no way they could ever expect to charge £1400 per week for accommodation that shoddy. We were in the most expensive accommodation and the... more

We found human feces splattered up the back of the pan - check out the photos We had the most expensive accomodation! The customer services got confrontational when we asked for a refund! http://www.flickr.com/photos/44219647@N03/sets/72157622708027240/ more

We've just come back from Trelawne Manor which is a John Fowler Holiday Park outside Looe. There doesn't seem to be an entry for this park on Trip Advisor so I thought I'd leave my comments here. The place was mouldy, tired, damp and uninspiring. They cut the grass next to the caravan but didn't collect it so all week... more

Returned from the Golden Coast Holiday Park after just one night! Had booked to stay for a week, but the 'Cornflower' chalet in which we were staying was utterly ghastly and we could only manage a night there. Upon opening the front door, the smell from the chalet was revolting and made us feel quite sick. The sofa bed and... more

My husband and I spent 2 weeks at Killigarth Holiday Park near Poperro in a Poppy Gold Caravan - on the surface the place looked clean - look further and the kitchen area was greasy. The take away food on site was inedible, the shop opening time very restrictive 8 til 12 and 4 till 7. The bar area was cheerless... more

I made the mistake of booking a weeks holiday at John Fowler in Ilfracombe. We spent the week in a dog kennel, sorry a chalet. The kitchen sink was so close to the bed that it may as well have been in it with us, there was no shower only a bath for a midget with no bath mat, so... more

We stayed at the John Fowler place in Perranporth last year and, although it was basic, it was clean and not at all bad for the price. We made the mistake of booking to go to the Ilfracombe park this year. We booked two side-by-side two bedroom apartments and they were disguisting. damp and smelly; covered in cobwebs; there was... more

Arrived here to see a fellow prisoner come out of his chalet shouting at his family "we're getting out of this [--] NOW" A very freindly but wary looking receptionist gave us the keys to the chalet on entering the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke and general dirt was overwhelming. Thankfully I had read the previous reviews and went armed... more
