I understand this is a very old hotel and very dated but there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness we found in our bedroom. We couldn't unpack because all the drawers had a really bad smell of mould. There were clumps of dust hanging from the ceiling and the carpet could have done with a good clean. The... More

We have just returned from the hotel today,we stayed mon- fri on a half board basis.the public area, lobby, bar, lounges and dining room are all fine, this is a very old hotel. Our room in particular, was in a very bad state of repair. The furniture was at least over 20 yrs old, the TV was very old, the room however was... More

The Hotel takes you back to Victorian times with its old yet lovely adequate decor, you get to feel the full effect of how it much have been years ago to be at the seaside, but I mean this in... Room very small and unbearably hot.. The food was disgusting, cheap and pre cooked food used. I had to send two meals back and still didn't eat it! The breakfast was just as bad, cheap sausages and overcooked hash browns the toast didn't even see the toaster!! The jugs were dirty. The waitresses were very helpful and friendly and did everything... More

Recently return from a 5 day visit to this hotel, our bedroom was a bit on the small side but clean, a number of other residents complained of dirty rooms, so we were pleased. Had to take the lift and then climb 23 stairs which we found rather difficult to manage (both being in our mid 70's). The stairs were... More

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel. The hotel was what you can expect from a 2 Star hotel. Room was clean and bathroom was clean. The staff were very friendly. The food was good, but the service at dinner could have been better. The breakfast was space out so everyone did not appear at... More

A friend and I spent a few days exploring this coastline and loved the quirkyness of this sea side town.....so many of the wonderful hotels appear to be of a bygone age ... Dated and fading but my friend and I enjoyed our two night stay at the Grosvenor...friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was plentiful and served efficiently by lovely... More
