We went to a Wedding at Sandy Cove - this is our second visit and we had a three day break. The location is stunning. The whole experience was fantastic - so professional from the food down to the staff. If you can afford a seaview room, I would highly recommend you have one - waking up to this view... more

Read the reviews - decided to book - what can I say other than FANTASTIC? Views were awesome (book a sea view), food was amazing, staff were great. OK so the decor's a bit dated but so what? If you want a good hotel, amazing views, good service, great food (and I mean GREAT food), well situated for lovely scenery... more

We've just had a 5-day break at Sandy Cove. Its the first time we've been to this hotel and we were nearly put off by some of the bad reviews, but we are really glad we weren't!! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and delicious and our room was very good. We can't understand some... more

Stunning views on arrival, and a lovely heated swimming pool, but just a real shame the hotel didn't live up to expectations. We booked this hotel as a large group (approx 18 people) for my sister's 40th birthday weekend, and it was very nearly ruined by rude restaurant staff and poor food on the first night. Some of the food... more

After a very rude greeting at reception and told to wait, 20 minutes later we checked in. The room was dated and shabby, much like the rest of the hotel. Expecting a quiet hotel we were not told about the Disco that run until 11pm. Although the restaurant staff were apologetic no managers were ever on site to discuss problems... more

we travelled with a large party and were allocated rooms in the lodge. This is a 200m walk which when the weather is good, very pleasant. However, if it was rainy or very windy, breakfast would be a chore. No good for old or infirm. The main hotel is very nice with fantastic views and the staff friendly and efficient.... more

There were 6 rooms let for this party - 4 doubles and 2 singles. Room 57 was let as a single non seaview room to this party and we cannot understand why there were two people in this room unless they have swapped rooms within their group; indeed when we have checked the paperwork there was only one tariff charged...

Nice location and views, but dreadful decor, service and food. Rooms were from the 70's, shower ran scalding hot or cold. To reach the bar you need to pass through the restaurant , not the best of planning. Restaurant staff were all students with no idea how to serve food. Would never return - when asked if we had enjoyed... more

I booked this via the internet and have to say that I was not disappointed. The first impression is that the reception area is very dated but I found the staff very pleasant, and they are certainly busy with lots of bookings. One of the bedrooms we had was on the ground floor with a view to die for, we... more

We've just returned home from our third visit to Sandy Cove - we loved every minute of it. Both my wife and myself work in the centre of London and can't believe how relaxed and laid back everyone seems to be in Devon! We come down now to recharge our batteries and my screen-saver at work is of Hangman's Hills... more

This is our fourth visit to Sandy Cove, the last time we came was in November of last year to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, we just love the place. We always have the same room but it has been upgraded and refurbished since our last visit, to a superior seaview room. We did have to pay a supplement for... more
