We stayed at the Sawmill Inn last week for 3 nights. and we had a great time there. The accommodation is very spacious and clean. The setting is lovely among the trees by the campsite, The staff were very nice and friendly. I would recommend the hotel as a very reasonably priced place to stay. We will definitely return as... We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it. The location is very peaceful if a little difficult to find. Our room was lovely with a comfortable bed and beautiful linens. I also appreciated the in-room fridge with fresh milk and bottled water. The en-suite was small but adequate.

We called here for our lunch today and wasn't that impressed. The food was good pub food but not restaurant quality but the surroundings were very poor. When we approached the entrance I wasn't sure it was open and didn't even change my mind once in. The place is very dark with empty beer bottles on the sides as displays,... More

You get what you pay for as far as accommodation is concerned. We booked one night, last minute for £50. Basic but very clean and a lovely comfy bed. Staff in the pub very friendly, excellent service. Very good breakfast which we paid £6 each for - worth every penny.

Good job too as it was lovely, we read a review that said "don't go on the fact that it doesn't look much from the outside" So we didn't, the girls behind the bar were great, really friendly. The food tastes great, I would recommend the steak, mushroom and onion pie it was so yum we went back and I... More

Beautiful location but that's where it ends, inside is dreary and unloved, service is non existent, it smells awful, and the food was disgusting. Actually inedible and looked like someone else had had a go first! Poor old place needs some TLC.

I do not want to be too down on the Sawmill Inn, but it just has a gloomy feel to it. Really it needs a huge refurb job to make it an enticing place to keep returning. I am not usually out of step with other Tripadvisors, but I did not really find much to like about the Sawmill Inn.

Imagine a hotel where nothing is too much trouble, that has a very good basic menu accompanied by real ales, that is within 5 minutes walk of breathtaking scenery and which costs around half the price of budget chain hotels such as Travelodge. At the Sawmill you don't have to imagine - you've found it. Family owned and run, the... More

Pub was closed when we got there and was not exactly clear where we should book in...sorted in the end. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean with lovely bedding. The fridge was very helpful and the bottle of milk and 4 bottles of water was a nice touch. The shower room is snug and a little dated... More
