We visited for my wife's birthday as it's her favourite restaurant in the area . Were lucky to get a table, as the restaurant is usually full when we try. The food is fabulous, the choices extensive, especially the fish. Drinks well priced and staff attentive but not pushy and in a rush for tables

Popped in to the Boat House recently, and used the Ladies before ordering. We were hungry but elected for Wetherspoons, if you had been there in the Boat House so would you ! While the Pub was closed, vagrants used their tables out front. The Bar and kitchen visible through the hatch at the back were beyond description. Rubbish in... More

I can't comment on the rooms here as my boyfriend and I stayed at another hotel, but H the bar owner was really welcoming, helpful and knowledgable. Th local people his pub seemed to attract were a lovely bunch and we were made to feel welcome by all the friendly faces. Cheers guys, we'll come again! Sarah and Richie

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other two reviews except the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was acceptable (we have had a lot, lot worse and paid a lot more). Really not the place to go back to and certainly not suitable for the more senior generation.

Stayed in this hotel and it is awful. The room had no smoke alarm, and is therefore potentially illegal. The carpets were disgusting and the staff were disinterested. The window opened onto a flat roof and was a security risk if it was left open. Avoid at all costs.

The Boat House isnt a hotel, there is no reception, there is a spanish restaurant below and restaurant staff who deals with arrivals have no experience in costumer service, the entrance door is wide open for everyone from outside and no one really check who comes into the building, I found it very unsafe. The hallways have very old dirty... More

Have stayed here several times, staying again next week, its clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast. Have paid much more and received less. Sure the staff are same as the resteraunt staff always someone about happy to help.

I had the fortune to stay here the week before Christmas, not because i chose the hotel but because there was no where else open that wasn't solely populated by the over 60s! I stayed with my wife and 3 children (aged 7, 4 and 18months), we were given a large sea facing room with a bunk bed and enough... More

Being part of a group that has visited the hotel more than once a year for a number of years, I have seen the changes with this hotel. Hotel isn't really accurate in that it doesn't have a reception desk, there are now no staff on duty other than in the restaurant when open and it doesn't have a lounge.... More

Firstly the address is incorrect. It is located on Wilders road on the corner of Arcade Rd. It is however on the sea front and overlooks a small rocky bay. The bedrooms at the front all have large french windows with sea views. The rear bedrooms overlook the parking and hotels higher up into the town. Some bedrooms have ensuite... More
