We stayed in room 214 end of Novemebr into the first week of December 2015. We travelled with Alfa and driver Gareth - a very good driver with a wicked 'dry' sense of humour. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, the food and staff were wonderful. The room was well serviced, always tidy and clean. Great to have... More

Perhaps you might be put off reading a few reviews about this hotel, because it does mainly cater for coach parties - and obviously their clients are of a more senior age (like the age of the hotel which is nearly 150 year old). But what difference does age make? It certainly wasn't a drawback during my stay, with dance... More

We have just returned from our Alfa Tour to Ilfracombe. The Imperial is a very old "lady" nearly 150 years old but I was impressed with the standard of the hotel from the decoration of the bedrooms and lounges to the carpets underfoot. The lift which can hold six people at a pinch was very smooth and quiet. We requested... More

Arrived on a self-drive 5 day break through Alpha Travel on 5th October and found the reception staff very polite and helpful as were all the staff. I had a single room which was a decent size with tea and coffee making facilities but only a very small tv which had terrible reception. The décor is dated and needs smartening... More

Stayed here at the beginning of October as part of a coach holiday. Very clean with great staff. Food was very good. Try to get a sea view. Fantastic over the Bristol Channel. Tea & coffee in the room, with a decent MUG, no small cups here Handy for touring North Devon. I had problems with a mobile phone signal,... More

So there are some bad points...wifi is only available in the lobby, the hotel and particularly the room is a bit tired, flooring squeeked above us when the guests upstairs moved around early in the morning. However for 100 pounds for 2 people for 2 nights in a double room it isnt bad. We were able to park outside the... More
