We stayed in Ilfracombe for a few days after a family get together. The Elmfield really impressed. The food was very good. Our room was nice. The staff very helpful. We would go back when visiting the area again, if only for the eggs benedict. more

We recently took our children for a 'staycation' to compliament an overseas holiday later in the year. Despite serious rain we had a fab time in Ilfracombe, largely because The Elmfield staff really made an effort for us. Glad we checked into the Elmfield because most of the other hotels in town appeared to be pretty rundown. Samll but tasteful room at the top of the building. Great little heated indoor swimming pool at the bottom of the terraced garden. Breakfast was lovely more

We were expecting great things from the Elmfield after all the positive reviews we had read prior to our arrival. We have to agree with another reviewer on this site that the double deluxe room (room 6) was not deluxe and that the bathroom was like a bad B&B. We’re very sad that these guests where disappointed with their stay here. The Elmfield is a small independent family run hotel. Since we arrived here in December 2007 we have been continually improving the hotel rooms, bathrooms and facilities, all funded by us personally. Due to being a small family business, and sadly without an unlimited budget we are working...
