5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013 NEW

Group of 25 ramblers had lovely stay in hotel in June 2013. Hospitality, food and restaurant organisation was very good. Although one of three large groups, meals were served promptly and efficiently, with great variety of good food on the menu, ideal after day out walking in area. The evening entertainment was generally good and made for relaxing evenings. This... More

We've just returned from an enjoyable stay at the Duke of Gordon. The location was very pleasant, the accommodation clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. The restaurant manager, John, certainly had his work cut out as the hotel was very busy but, thanks to his and his staff's efficiency, things ran very smoothly. The food... More

Stayed here for a few days on our tour of the highlands. Staff and management very pleasant and polite. Room was nice. Food was average. The entertainment was enjoyable Would we stay at this hotel again then the answer would be yes.

Arrived with our coach party to be greeted by the hotel manager. Can't complain about any of the staff as all delivered service very well. We struggled with getting the room door to lock and the manager went upstairs on our behalf to lock the room for us. Nice touch that. The room was on the third floor and if... More

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable accommodation, good entertainment - the only thing that I would criticize about the Duke of Gordon is that the food was average, not very well presented, watery soup. Other than that, a fine hotel.

Travelled here with a coach party just before Easter and was very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted on arrival by the manager and allocated our rooms while on coach, saving the usual wait at reception. Our luggage was then brought to our rooms. which were comfortable and warm (weather was extremely cold). . The staff were all very friendly and... More

My wife Sue and I have just returned from Scotland after staying from Easter Sunday to the following Friday at this superb hotel. We were staying as part of a large group of family and friends we were delighted with the warm welcome we received following a long two day journey from Wiltshire. No, we're not joking! Before booking our holiday we checked the reviews and were encouraged by the fact that most of the recent ones seemed to be favourable. However, having stayed there for four nights, we now find ourselves agreeing with the less enthusiastic ones. Our first impressions on entering Room 356 were good. It was nicely decorated and the... Stayed as part of a coach party. From start to finish the experience at the hotel was delightful and the major influence on this was the manager and his staff. After a warm welcome, we were smoothly moved from coach to rooms, none of the usual pushing and shoving around the reception desk. The hotel is a little worn around... More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed our hospitality and the spectacular scenery we are blessed with here. Being a traditional building that is over 100 years old we do have some creaking floors but I hope they didn't disturb you too much. We hope you will visit again in the not too distant future.
