I read all of reviews and was concerned when we arrived and the tired look of the hotel gave the reviews credence. However I must say that the staff were great (quirky mad) but great. Value for money second to none. I could type for hours but no need. Go and enjoy the eccentricity of the place, the old fashioned... More

Stayed at the Duke of Gordon with another couple for a golfing holiday. The hotel arranged the four beautiful golf courses for us and we spent two days touring the Highlands. The hotel is perfectly placed for a touring holiday of the Highlands and is great value. The hotel itself is comfortable, a little old and tired in places, but... More

I was staying in Kingussie the other week for a short break...unfortunately not in Duke of Gordon Hotel. It was a chilly day and I popped in for a latte (£2.20) and a piece of homemade shortbread. (80p). There is a lovely warm sunny seating area off the bar which looks out onto the main road and across to beautiful... More

My in-Laws have just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with friends at The Duke of Gordon Hotel while on a bus tour in the area. The staff were wonderful adding some extras for the celebrations. They had an upgraded room, decorated their table ( with banners and balloons) , and supplied a cake with candles. The staff really made a... More

I recommend this hotel. The breakfast is very good and the evening meal superb. (4 course) Most of the guests are staying as part of coach parties but there are plenty of independent travellers. Most evenings there is live entertainment which was very good. There is a spacious car park and staff were on hand when the snow was heavy... More

Very quaint old style English hotel. This was part of a tour. Reminded you of the hotel that Jack Nicholson was caretaker of in the movie "The Shining". There is not much to do in the town, and our stay was just for overnight but it is a quaint hotel in a very small town.

I am just back from a 5 day stay in this hotel, It has a lift that takes you to the 2nd floor and if you are higher up you have to walk the rest. We had to be up at 6 am to have a shower if you were not up at that time you didn't get one as... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the Duke of Gordon Hotel. I am disappointed in the comments made and can assure all our guest of our best intentions at all times. There are several younger members of the team at the hotel where this is their first job since leaving school. We actively employ as many local people... More

We took advantage of a late deal to spend three days here. Hotel was well placed on the main road with plenty of parking round the back. Room was nicely set out with comfortable beds, chairs and a hospitality tray and a modern bathroom and good shower. Not huge but big enough. No view apart from roof tops but the... More

This is my 4th time spending a holiday in Kingussie, staying in The Duke of Gordon Hotel. It is unbelievable how much it has deteriorated. Staff services are currently abysmal. There is no supervision whatsoever .. no management in evidence .. most of the staff seem to be young untrained teenagers, who must work for the lowest rates of pay.... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the Duke of Gordon Hotel. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy you time with us on your last visit. Duke of Gordon Hotel is located very close to the Wildlife Park and the Folk Museum, both are great places for families and nature loving folks. The hotel is very large, therefore it attracts large groups and tours. We were a large group ourselves with two kids and enjoyed our one night of stay. During our visit, most people in... More
