I am tempted not to write this review in case this wonderful place gets too busy. It is a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable restaurant with rooms and what rooms. They are so well decorated and furnished, actually to the standards enjoyed in 5 star hotels. We lay in bed with the window open listening to the burn trickle past and the... More

This is a nice hotel, easy to get to Aviemore locations. Nice comfortable bed and friendly professional staff. The breakfast was large and hot and fresh. I would stay here again when I come back to Scotland.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights last week and had a wonderful time. We got the sleeper train up from London and did local walks and bird-watching, meaning we didn't even need our own transport. Celia and her husband were fantastic - very welcoming without being intrusive, and our room was lovely and warm and cosy. We... More

For the last few years a group of us have organised an annual "gourmet" weekend. This year we chose exclusive occupation of the Cross for a weekend, both rooms and restaurant, this constituting a very good value package. We were very satisfied with our choice. The food was consistently excellent for both the evening dinners. On the Saturday we had... More

Evening food is beyond words...go there and enjoy it yourself..Breakfast is "sensible"... Rooms, clean, comfortable and homely but not luxury....you are there for the grub! One pub in the village has a couple of decent real ale taps with local beer if you need a wander..

We went to The Cross for dinner on Saturday evening and have visited on previous occasions and always had a great meal but the dinner we had on Saturday was unbelieveable.....I'm still thinking about it now! The meal we had on Saturday night was SUPERB. Words can't describe the whole experience really. Whilst we were sitting choosing our food, we... More
