This small hotel was a real treat in early December, arriving very late after a long drive we were given a really warm welcome. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was traditional, well cooked and presented, porage was available. The warm welcome and kind support marks this hotel as one that deserves a return visit. more

Great value, the owner is a character if you want to have a few drinks over the bar. The room was clean and big enough, the bathroom worked quite well. Noticed a few of the comments below and thought I should clarify for people: - We paid GBP64 for a couple with breakfast. Not sure what people expect for this,... more

I stayed at The Scot House in March 06 during the off season. It was a very pleasant stay, and I would certainly book there again. The room room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and fairly priced. The food was outstanding. And the hospitality of the hosts, Colin and Helen, was delightful. In looking for a central location that would give... more

The Scot House is ideally located, just 40 miles from Inverness, in the Cairngorm National Park and easy driving distance to pretty much everything in the Highlands. Our hosts Helen and Colin were an absolute delight and made us feel right at home. The Scot House itself was beautifully restored, has its own very respectable restaurant and a bar where... more

Our first impressions were good the owner greeted us with warmth and kindness. The room was ok, the shower room was not that nice and rather cramped. We did however think that we had got a great deal considering we had booked for dinner on both nights - we had seen the menu and it looked expensive and impressive –... more

We had booked originally with the previous owner and had made sure that the hotel was child friendly (I was taking my daughter on her 1st Brthday)... When I found out that it had changed hands I contacted the new owners to ensure that this was still a place to bring a baby.. (obviously they wanted our money so they... more

As is always the case with any dissatisfied customer, we hope that you will raise any issues to us in person during your stay so that we may address the matter, and not through an anonymous website months after the event. The Scot House hotel is pleased to welcome families of all ages, with a dedicated family room containing bunk...

Stayed 3 times in 05, new owners extremely helpful [including carrying bags upstairs]and welcoming. Beautifully decorated and light [darkish stone exterior somehow made me think it would be a bit gloomy], good housekeeping, our room was immaculate. Ideal for us as really like surrounding scenery and hill walking, with local modern sports centre few minutes walk from hotel. Staff helpful... more

After reading previous reviews, I felt the need to add my comments on this hotel. The new owners have obviously bedded in well, and are doing a good job lifting the hotel's reputation. From the moment we walked into the foyer we experienced a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bedroom was of the highest standard and immaculately clean, and tastefully... more

As the previous reviewer noted, there has recently been an ownership change in this hotel, which probably explains why it didn't live up to what I expected based on earlier reviews. Nothing in particular was wrong with our stay -- the rooms were nice enough, and quiet. I just felt that things were a bit disorganized, and it may be... more

Stayed at the Scot House for a few days in May 2005, could not be faulted. We were given an automatic upgrade at no extra cost to a King Size, brilliant room, view and furnishings. Excellent food, service and friendly informal atmosphere. Well located for visiting all the highlands. more
