Imagine a warm cosy ski chalet but in a house. We absolutely loved coming off the hills and sinking into the huge comfy couches infront of the open fire in the sitting room. Our skis were kept safe by the owners in their ski shed and our boots were dried for us every night. The main reason we loved sonnhalde... More

Stayed for one night. Had a warm welcome. Room had lovely view and was very comfy. Lovely breakfast. Lovely fresh fruit and host went out of his way to make sure we got everything we wanted. Great value for money compared to other places in the area. Would not stay anywhere else in area.

My partner and I have travelled around the world staying for the most part in guest houses and this place easily comes tops. We stayed for 4 nights and felt very at home. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the hosts, they even took our walking boots and jackets every evening to air and dry them for the... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and had 2 rooms booked. The house was charming, hosts knowledgeable and the views of Caingorms fantastic! The breakfast was sumptuous, and well done. I would recommend this place thoroughly. I would definitely go back the next time.

The host, Bernie, was very welcoming, and knowledgeable about the local facilities. There are no TVs in the bedrooms but there is a large lounge where you can watch in comfort and help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits. We prefer this type of guest house where you feel included in the household. They have a huge selection for breakfast... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Bernie was very helpful and the house and room was very clean and comfortable. We didn't have a TV in our room but used the very spacious lounge which had a TV and reading material and lovely views of the Cairngorms.

The Scottish breakfast was delicious and bounteous! Bernie had many suggestions on places to visit and historical information. It was a beautiful home from the 1800 and a delightful experience. Highly recommended!

Comfy beds, cosy atmosphere a nice rumbling fire and a delicious breakfast. All topped off by being run by great very friendly hosts. Simple and Nice! The real British B&B experience. I strongly recommend having the poached eggs and the chefs perfectly cooked tomatoes for breakfast. Also if you are a foreigner staying here have the tea for breakfast the... More

If you are staying in Kingussie, I can highly recommend Sonnhalde. It has beautiful views of Badenoch and the Cairngorms and lovely rooms. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and are always willing to help guests. The rooms are well-equipped but there is also a lovely lounge for guests with tea and coffee available all day. Very aware... More
