Our room was well past its prime and filled with furniture & decor from the the Fawlty Towers era - this was perfectly illustrated when the hairdryer blew up in my hand! With next to no water pressure the shower was FAR from the quality you would hope for when paying these kind of prices. The staff, whilst friendly, were... more

We stayed here as a group of three couples. Although we stayed at the hotel for only one night , our stay was a great experience with the service and food being absolutely first class. The rooms and bathrooms are slightly aged but this seems to add to the character and history that surrounds the hotel. Dalmunzie is a great... more

Dalmunzie Castle is set amongst the rolling hills of Glenshee with great walks and a 9 hole golf course. The food was exceptional, staff very attentive and friendly. We would have loved to be staying longer. Our room was very clean, bed very comfortable. Would higly recommend this for a get away to relax and unwind. Would be lovely in... more

Small adjacent golf course which is separate from hotel was an added bonus -- beautifully kept and great fun. The staff were first class and we found the breakfasts were almost as good as the evening meals which were of a very high standard. Highly recommended. more

This is the second time we have stayed at the Dulmunzie and once again you are made to feel so welcome the minute you step through the door of the hotel. The staff are so friendly they just cant do enough for you. We had a four poster room with lovely views over the hills and surrounding country side. The... more

After wanting to stay at Dalmunzie for a long time we booked a one night stay on the way to Aviemore. On arrival we were upgraded to a four poster room which was lovely, very cosy and the complimentary sherry was an added bonus! The dinner was excellent and the dining room was very intimate, not too many tables. The... more

My partner Hugh and I stayed at Dalmunzie for two nights (17 - 19 Nov) and had a wonderful time. The hotel was wonderful, the staff terrific, the food great and the views spectacular. We stayed in the MacKenzie room which was great, with lots of charachter. The views were quite stunning! The only minor flaw was the shower, maybe... more

We were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful manor house for one night during our visit to Scotland. The location, hotel, room, food, etc. was perfect and definitely worth the price. The hotel is very remote and peaceful...which was much appreciated after the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. My husband was able to get in a game of golf... more

This used to be a quiet, warm, cosy retreat with excellent traditional scottish food, roaring log fires and unobtrusive service. Tranquility at it's best. The new owners have managed to remove everything that made this hotel worth staying in. It is noisy, has lost its atmosphere, very cold, with a small pretentious nouveau cuisine menu. The dining room is now... more

Sigh...Unfortunately this reviewer harks back to those vitriolic few who still can't accept the improvements made to Dalmunzie since we took over in Feb 2004. A glance at the vast majority of reviews will give you an accurate picture of how guests actually see Dalmunzie. The comments are, I'm afraid completely laughable and pertain to an extremely small minority. I...

We spent one night at the Dalmunzie, and would happily have stayed for longer! Our room was beautiful, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and the overall dining experience was lovely - definitely recommend for a special occasion as it was a real treat.
