My husband and I stayed here 18th and 19th May 2012 thanks to a Groupon Voucher. I have to say we had the most fantastic weekend ever. The room we had was huge with TV / DVD player. You get a reall feeling that you are at home. The owner could not do enough for us and we left feeling...

Beautiful place in a huge garden with peacocks (a bit noisy in the morning but it's a country side hotel and we enjoyed them).
Very warm atmosphere everywhere in the hotel. Nice staff, wonderful owners (we were shown the new houses for four and eight people). As there was a noisy party in the dining room, we had dinner (very...

Stayed here for two nights with colleagues on business and thought it was very good. Staff were very pleasant throughout the time we were there and always on hand to help. We had dinner there for our first night and apart from a very stingy portion of smoked salmon as a starter, it was enjoyable. For our second night, we...

My daughter and husband took over the whole hotel for their wedding over the weekend of Easter 2012. It turned out to be a mini-folk festival, with music till the early hours, and the proprietors and staff provided just the right combination of service and patience over the whole weekend. The hotel itself is full of character, in nice grounds,...

We had a pleasant stay but would offer the following comments.
GOOD POINTS
Location - Perthshire is a lovely county with lots to offer for all tastes. The location of the hotel is a good location for the town and beyond. If you like golf, 2 of the best golf courses in Britain are round the corner, Rosemount and Landsdowne....

I was extremely dissapointed with this hotel! When checking in the room I was shown to was disgusting, there was dog hair all over the carpet ( which had obviously not been hovered since the last guest which I can only assume had a big dog with them) I went to reception and was offered another room which was a...

Very warm welcome at check in, lady gave us tour of lounge, bar, dining room for breakfast and then brought us to our room, the rose room at the top (4 wee flights of stairs). A very pretty room with character, lovely window, gingham curtains and fireplace with pretty rose wallpaper. Room was cosy and good long radiator which heated...

Booked at last minute, arrived late, none of this was any problem. Warm welcome on arrival and a wee supper was easily arranged in the bar. Dinner on the Saturday was excellent; beautifully slow cooked food, served with grace. Any issues were dealt with immediately and it was a joy to watch the peacocks while having breakfast. 1,200 listed trees...

This hotel is just what you need when travelling to a remote area - it was warm, friendly and had attentive service. I really thought the hotel food was great and would recomend the venison. It is a great base to see the delights of Scotland. My only compliant was that my time was over too quickly at Altamount!
