I stayed here due to a wedding I was attending. We stayed in Charles room which was around the back off a courtyard (which had a few doggie poos left there). The room was more than adequate although slightly on the small side, however since we really didn’t spend much time in the room it really was not an issue.... more

Spent a night at the Altamount Hotel, Blairgowrie with my husband and six year old to try to de-stress before christmas. Although we were informed before hand that it was Party night we did not realise that that meant we were offered only the party menu not the sample menu advertised on the internet and that the family room we... more

Altamount House is a typical Scottish country house of late 19th/early 20th century vintage which has been sympathetically converted into a comfortable Country House Hotel. It stands in fairly extensive well maintained grounds (with resident peacocks) and is very popular for weddings which is why my wife and I recently spent two nights there whilst attending a family wedding on... more

We stayed in a room with stunning window, very clean and comfy bed, furniture a little dated but not that important for us. The view was lovely. The house itself is stunning. Dining room pleasant, food average but my husband cleared his plate so perhaps I just picked the wrong dish for me. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel is family... more

Recently had my wedding at the hotel and it was fantastic. The food was great, everything ran on time and we had a wonderful day. After reading the some of the reviews on here - I was really worried that it would be rubbish - but everyone had a great time and we loved it! Some of the rooms don't... more

I travel on business to many places World wide and I am ashamed to admit that the worst hospitality encountered in many years was in my own country. Where do I start? The room not clean, breakfast was refused because I was nine minutes too late getting into dining room, at the bar I listen to arguments about overcharging when... more

We stayed there over the bells for two nights. The hotel is a lovely setting but quite frankly the room was abysmal as were the residents lounge and bar area. In fairness the dining room and function suite are very tastefully done and the owners are civil enough, the staff were very good, however they really should invest some funds... more

I contacted the hotel by e mail to book 4/5 rooms for 8/10 people over a weekend. I was given a price of £75 per night per person DBB. I telephoned and booked 4 rooms and provisionally booked the fifth room. I was asked for and left a credit card number. When I called to say that the fifth room... more

This is a lovely small Scottish Hotel that is full of character. You know from the peacocks that run free in the grounds that this is not just another bland hotel that is instantly forgetable. The room was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities that you will need. The bar and lounge were cosy and the dining... more

The hotel is conveniently located and has ample parking. The grounds are gorgeous and it is easily within walking distance of the shops, cafes and riverside walks. The owners and staff are pleasant, the dining room lovelly. However the rooms are of a very poor standard for the price. Old and worn furniture, old-fashioned decor and curtains and don't get... more
