We reached Newport and didn't book any place to stay. All the hotels were booked out or expensive, and after a lot of googling we found Sandown Manor ant to our luck they had free rooms. Reached the place in 40 mins bus ride from Newport and found it very welcoming by the owners. They gave us a initial tour... More

Hotel really geared up to keep young children amused. Toys and games - even dressing up! Although we visited in half term holiday in October, there were things to do outside - swings, trampoline and pets, including donkey. Plenty of choice for breakfast - nothing too much trouble for the staff. If you want takeaway, crockery and cutlery all made... More

We stayed here for a long weekend. Right from opening the door we felt extremely welcomed and literally at home. The hotel has a large recreational room with table tennis, pool, plenty of toys and large sofa groups. Perfect for sitting down while the kids play. Outside you have a pool and a mini zoo with chickens, ducks, rabbits and... More

welcoming, friendly, felt at home straight away. Views magnificent. 8 year old daughter loved it. Ideally placed for a walk into sandown and shanklin, Beaches lovely. Most relaxing holiday ever. Met couples, families with young and older children, etc and all seemed to enjoy as much as we did

Have visited the Sandown Manor on multiple occasions: the staff are all friend and Debbie and Alain are lovely hosts; it really feels like home every time I visit. The rooms are spacious, modern and well equipped, with fantastic bathrooms. The grounds are amazing, full of things to do for little kids (i.e. Perfect for families with young ones), with... More

My husband and I and our two young daughters stayed at the Sandown Manor at the end of August for 4 nights and booked a family room. We received a very warm welcome from Debbie and my girls were straight at home playing with the toys and famiarising themselves outside and with the animals. They loved it. Our room was... More

Had to cancel 5 days before booking due to a child illness and was charged £100 for the room anyway. Was told we would be emailed if they managed to re-let the room but didn't hear anything back until I emailed and was then told there was no refund possible. I know hotels can set their own cancellation rules but... More

I really do not understand how trip advisor can put a review on from someone that has not even come to our front door! All hotels have cancellation policies otherwise you could not run a business with people just not turning up - especially when we are full all summer. We are, however, flexible and if we manage to re-sell... More

We have taken 3 of our granddaughters (ages 3, 6 & 8) here for the last 2 years on the late May bank holiday, and we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for families with young children. Debbie & Alain have created a welcoming children oriented environment, and our grandchildren thoroughly enjoy themselves with the animals, the outdoor play... More

We have stayed at Sandown Manor twice now, and I'm sure we will be back! We loved everything, and didn't want to leave. The room was first rate, spotlessly clean and luxurious with loads of room. The breakfasts are perfectly cooked to order, with plenty of fresh fruit and fruit juices. There are entertainment opportunities to suit everyone, especially if... More

Debbie and Alan are perfect hosts. They welcome you like old friends. Nothing is too much trouble for Debbie and Alan. Rooms are comfortable with plenty of space. Fantastic breakfasts that set you for the day ahead. Amazing views of the bay. We always stay here when on the Isle of Wight it's like home from home. Perfect hosts.
