After staying 7days at the Sands Hotel GOOD POINTS Lee and his wife were pleasant and very helpful. The location of the Hotel is brilliant can't get no nearer to the beach, and the High Street for the shops. The food in the restaurant 100% the waitresses always had smiles on their faces and nothing was too much trouble for... More

Hi Daisy A Thank you for leaving a review and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. I have passed on your kind comments regarding the Staff, cleanliness and the food to the team here at the Sands. Regarding the WiFi I am not sure why you thought that we had none, as we do have a... More

Stayed at the Sands from 28th June for one week on a bowls tour, My room "Hong Kong" was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. No complaints with the shower and it done what it should do ! No complaint on meals. Good Full English every day (nice change from normal life.) Dinner would be chosen at breakfast with... More

I recently stayed at the Sands Hotel with my wife and many other friends on a coach excursion. From the moment we pulled up outside the hotel, to where a number of staff ensured that all your bags and cases were taken into the reception area - our bags were then delivered to our rooms to save any lifting etc.... My wife and I, having just returned after staying from Monday19th to Friday 23rd, must comment on the accommodation, the shower was not acceptable for elderly of infirm people, even though we coped due to us being very fit for our ages ( 73 & 69yrs ) but some of the other guests never had a shower for their stay... Just arrived back from a long weekend at the Sands Hotel. The room we had was compact and therefore everything was within easy reach. The mattress could do with being replaced, the springs were rather prominent, but I'm a bit of a 'princess and the pea' type of girl, my husband slept like a log! We paid very little for... More

My wife and I (in our mid sixties) returned on the 9th May after a five day break organised by Opal Travel based in the I.O.W. , Paul, our driver & guide is second to none. All the suitcases were taken to our rooms for us so no humping them up stairs. Now the Hotel, the bad bits first. Room... More

I have stayed at the sands 5 times, I think that the hotel is very well run, and the staff work very hard to ensure we had a good stray, I look forward to returning in march 2014, each time I have stayed at the sands I've always been very pleased with the hotel and the staff

Have just completed a long weekend at the Sands Hotel. The staff were very welcoming from the start and our room was clean and a good size. We didn't have a sea view unfortunately, but it didn't really matter. The food was very good for the price paid, (particularly the breakfast) and the Bar was good value too. Would definately... More

this is an average hotel with excellent hosts. The rooms are basic to say the least - we were only able to wash in the hand basin which was in the room - a VERY Small shower and wc area were carved out of one corner of the room making it just about possible to close the door. Bed was... More

Sandown & Lake Youth Football Club held their children's Christmas Party at Sands Hotel today. Absolutely delighted with the venue. The owners, Lee and Shauna, were fantastic hosts and, given that there were 40 4 to 6 year olds marauding around the ground floor, they never blinked an eye! The place was spick and span, with lovely Christmas decorations and... More
