Stayed at this hotel for a 3 night break with a view to revisting parts of the Isle of wight we had visited many years ago. Hotel was easy to find from the ferry terminal, reception staff booked the ferry crossing for us and managed to get discount on the crossing fare. Excellent free wifi, wish larger chains offered this... more

My husband I stayed midweek at the beginning of October as part of a Travelzoo deal. Our £99 per person included 2 nights accomodation, car-ferry travel, 3-course dinner each night and a ful English breakfast, and at that price was worth every penny. Yes, the hotel was a bit of throw-back to the 70s, and some of the food choices... more

I took my Fiance for her birthday to relax and enjoy some spa treatments, booked a superior room with a spa bath. When we arrived the first impression was of a faded old peoples home. Our room was tiny and sweltering hot, there was a tiny window and a sad little fan which did little to help. We had a... more

My wife and I visited this hotel earlier this month and had a really lovely stay. We hadn't been to the Isle of Wight before and this hotel looked after everything for us. We had a lovely room which was very clean and had been newly re-furbished. There is a spa centre and outdoor pool at the hotel but we... more

We stopped at the Melville Hall on 2nd September for 3 nights as part of a travelzoo deal. Overall we were pleased by our stay. With a little work on a couple of issues it could have been even better. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Our room was not massive but was comfortable and clean and included a... more

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of September and, I've got to say, the positives outweighed the negatives. First off the negatives - I didn't like the first impressions of the hotel with semi clad ladies lolling about the entrance area resplendant in dressing gowns! They had obviously been to the Spa area but it does create... more

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this hotel via a travelzoo special offer and paid £218 for 2 people for 2 nights with half board and a cheap ferry crossing from Southampton. For the money we paid I think it was good value but I would not pay the standard price. The room. The room was quite small... more

Stayed here over the August bank holiday weekend. Hotel is located within easy walking distance of Sandown, not that theres much to see in Sandown, but theres a train station there with trains about every 15mins to Ryde and rest of the island, seems to do a circuit. Taxis from hotel to Ryde cost between £23-£25. Breakfast was very good,... more

After spending a good seven hours on scooters we were very tired but so looking forward to staying at Melville. We had booked in 2008 on the strength of their website and though it was expensive we wanted our first trip to the isle to be relaxing and special, it was not. When we checked in nobody offerred to show... more

Very pricey for what it has to offer. Have stayed in 5 star hotels in London for similar price and this was certainly no 5 star. Really looking forward to a spa break but was disappointed by the poor quality of this hotel. more
