Stayed at this Guest House for 3 nights whilst visiting the Island on business. The room (Number 1 Ground Floor) was very clean ample size for one person however, would be a little cramped if travelling has a couple. The chap running the Guest House Brian was a very nice guy. I was a little disappointed when I was informed... More

Stayed here for a few days this was our 4th visit. Brian and his staff very friendly. As a coeliac I was offered gluten free cereal, sausage and bread for toast, without being made to feel a nuisance. Comfortable hotel in a convenient location for the amenities in Sandown. Would have no hesitation to book again.

I don't even know where to begin with this hotel. I have thought long and hard looking for a positive, but I can't find one. We arrived at the Chester Lodge, greeted by Brian. Pleasant enough up until the point where he started being really quite racist about two other families staying at the hotel. Openly telling us that he... More

this response is from bryan, firstly and most importantly i am NOT racist nor have i ever been. i did comment on the fact that young children were running wild around the premises and that i had requested one of the parents to please keep them under control. i did also comment that i did try to avoid having large... This is a outstanding Family run B&B on the Isle of Wight and with Brian and Jackie who own Chester lodge both of them and the staff are extremely pleasant and friendly. With lots of useful knowledge of the Island to make your stay even better if you are new to the Island. The beach & local shops are only... More

I booked this hotel as a family trip to the Island as after reading the reviews on here is seemed to be just what I was after. Unfortunately the hotel is extremely dated, very dusty, stained carpets, old persons smell as you enter (despite several air fresheners), bedroom was dark, smelly, dirty, shower was disgusting, one of the beds on... Set in a good location close to beach and main street, this family run hotel is excellent. The proprietor and staff were extremely pleasant and the accommodation very comfortable. A good hearty breakfast was included in the very reasonable price. I will most certainly return and would recommend this little gem of a place!

Just had a lovely few nights on the Isle of white and stayed with Brian and Jackie who own Chester lodge. Accommodation is basic and dated but comfortable, Brian made us very welcome on check in and is full of useful knowledge on Sandown and surrounding areas... Brian gave us ideas on a lovely day out to the needles which... More

Ok for an overnight stay, but that's it. Place very dated and tired. Stayed here as family party was being held there - no other reason. We had a power cut whilst we were there - no fault of the owner, but this just added to the bad experience. Will not be returning.
