Booked a 2 night stay via booking.com on a last minute whim for a couple of nights meeting a friend who lives in the area. The pictures online looked nice and the prices were very cheap. On arrival to the hotel it did look dated, but my first thoughts were "yeah it's cheap as long as it's comfortable with a nice... More

I guess it starts and ends with the land lady "Prue " { and i question the lady bit } the most un caring person running a hotel, no customer care, short tempered, rude and should not be a round people who would like to chill, enjoy with family's or relax. Only wish i had read the reviews first before... More

I stayed here while away on business. First night uneventful apart from the fact i had no toilet roll provided nor a tv remote, the room was cold and dirty even the glass to rinse your mouth in bathroom was dirty, after returning from work on the second day i sat on the end of my bed. It was soaking,... More

Very dirty and unorganised, no effort made to clean room or supply fresh necessities, rooms falling apart, cheeky stressed out landlord, waited for what seemed like ages at the stale stinky reception, room also smells

We entered this hotel on a whim as we'd had to leave our last hotel as it was so awful. we decided to move from the city and to the coast where we found Marlborough. The proprietor gave us a very good price on one of their luxury rooms as they had had a cancellation. The room was huge, lovely,... More

We stayed for the great north run. Initially the lady on the reception was really friendly. However, In the morning the lady seems to be stressed and was arguing with the majority of the customers. In addition to this, the hotel smells (room and hall). Definitely, we won't recommend this hotel.

We stayed here because my father was taken into a nearby hospital. The hotel was supposed to be closed but due to a mix-up with Booking.com we were allowed to book. When I explained the circumstances, the Landlady kindly sorted a room out for us and even moved her car so we could park directly outside in case we needed... More

We stayed here in August, the room was clean but basic, the breakfast was terrible, no cereal left hardly, no bowls, hardly any milk, bread was hard overall disgusting. There was a stain on the quilt cover so we turned it over, went for breakfast, came back, they had made the bed then left, same cover on hadn't been changed,... More
