Found this great place by knocking on the door. It was a very cold blustery day and after looking at too many other lodgings for availability, we happened upon this B & B. The owner answered the door with his toddler in his arms and a welcoming smile on his face. Luckily he had a room available for my party of three. The lodging was very spacious (even by American standards), warm and clean. The rooms included electric tea pot, cups and packets of instant coffee. The owner offered sound advice on locations to eat (I would suggest The Fire Station...Tuesday special was a choice of 10 or so meals that included a drink for 5.99 pounds). A full cooked breakfast was included in the price of the room. The lodge is about 2 blocks from the water. The B & B is easy to reach and the street offers plenty of places to park (although the lodge has two car places available). If you are looking for a friendly, clean and non pricey B & B, The Esplanade Lodge is it. more
