I travelled up from Liverpool to visit my husband who is staying here while he's working up in Whitley bay. We were in room 13 which was lovely and spacious, and as it is at the top of the hotel, it was also very quiet. I found the room was cleaned to a very high standard, With lots of complimentary... First impressions were wow lovely room - and it didn't disappoint. Clean, comfy bed, large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits/cream for coffee + milk for tea/bottled water provided on both nights, small coffee table and two chairs - large TV on wall (sadly the signal kept going at times - but not the fault of the Hotel).... Stayed over a weekend lovely room very private which is unusual for a hotel. Staff all very friendly but the lady who conducts breakfast/housekeeper (unfortunatly we didnt catch her name) made the weekend for us. She goes out of her way to make you feel at home and feeds you till you cant eat anymore. That lady deserves a medal!... More

We needed an economy hotel to stay at whilst visting family in the area. This establishment seemed, on paper, to fit the bill. This was a last minute booking so I was glad to find two rooms at short notice on a bank holiday weekend.......The hotel is located on the South Prom just before the sea wall - great location.... We at first we were recommended The Royal Hotel In Whitley Bay after glowing reports back off our friends who had stayed there two months earlier. Unfortunately they were fully booked for the dates we required, however the receptionist at The Royal Hotel informed us that they had a sister Hotel called The Newquay Lodge witch was within two minutes... First of all I must say that both the staff and the food score a 10 out of 10, however on arrival and having booked through Agoda there was no actually booking in place but there were however two rooms available, either a noisy room right next to a nightclub which had received a recent refurb or a quiet unrefurbed... Left booking a hotel for the Saturday night on a holiday weekend too late. Every 4 star hotel I would usually book was full. Came to Tripadvisor and checked for availability.......Up came the Newquay Lodge B&B. I read the reviews in advance so knew it would probably be noisy because of its proximity to bars and night clubs but we... More

Stayed here for two nights in easter. Not much to do in whitley bay apart from lighthouse and aquarium. But if your going to stay or use as base for newcastle then this place is perfect. We were put in attic room . Great size with two large beds and one single. Room was spotless with en suite. Breakfast was... More
