This is a really good budget hotel and you get what you pay for. I was surprised at how happy I was with my stay here as I really expected it to be of a different quality (its cheap to stay). It is very basic, there are no facilities at the hotel other than a very basic breakfast, and there... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights on a short break in April. Reading the mixed reviews I cant really see why anyone would complain here, yes the breakfast is a little basic, just toast and cereal on help yourself service but if you want to upgrade to full english you can eat at the sister hotel a few... Utterly stunning views across the bay, beautiful sunrise and sunset from our bedroom window. very clean, tidy well presented hotel with polite and professional staff who were helpful but in no way overbearing. Breakfast was served in a very characterful room again with a view out into the bay. Looking at some of the reviews I think people are expecting... More

We Booked this hotel through Steam packet ferries. Ferry crossing & hotel included. £300 for the package. I had read some reviews about this hotel after I had booked it, which cause me a little concern. People have moaned about the quality of the breakfast. We found that the selection was ample. Our room had a sea view, brill. Location... More

After walking out of a so called 'boutique' hotel because it was damp. We were offered a room at the Penta. Nothing special but what to expect for the price. We were given room 18 on the top floor, luckily it had a lift! Its a large side facing room, view of derilict building next door. It was quiet. Small... More

Despite the cleaner frontage among a collection of shabby waterfront hotels, the Penta is a poor hotel. Cheap fittings in the rooms, the smallest and thinnest towels I have had the misfortune to use (only one bath towel provided) and a 'continental breakfast' that is anything but. How hard would it be to provide some fruit or croissants for breakfast?... More

We were booked to stay in the caledonia next door but due to double booking they booked us in here - we were very pleased! Decor v good, modern. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Rooms massive with tea making facility/ hair dryer/iron. Small lift - great for buggy! Bathroom huge. We ate with our party next door so cannot comment on breakfast.... More

Just back from the TT, myself and brother stayed for a week and could not fault it. Great location with a bus along the prom into Douglas centre or up to Laxey and Ramsey also close to the electric train which is worth a ride. Quiet, very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly would defiantly stay again.

Superb rooms, very nicely refurbished hotel. Well serviced and very clean. The only thing which let it down was the poor breakfast choice. 'Continental Breakfast' was nothing more than cereal and toast.
