We have stayed here probably 6 or 7 times in the last few years and have always enjoyed it. Having once stayed in a rear-facing room it is worth a bit extra to ask for sea-facing. Rooms are very clean and spacious, and beds comfortable. Breakfasts are consistently good, whether in room or in the lovely restaurant. I haven't had... More

I have stayed here several times over the years, but this time I didn't enjoy it as much as previous visits. Generally, the room could have done with the carpet cleaning and the paintwork touching up as it was looking a bit tired. The room was, however, very well appointed and even had free soft drinks in the fridge. Wi-Fi... More

We booked this trip a little late for the Manx GP weekend so we had paid a little more than usual but boy was it worth it. The hotel is traditionally luxurious with beautiful period public rooms. The bedrooms (we stayed in the lodge) are large and very comfortable, with everything you would expect. Fantastic wifi, large TV and tea/coffee... More

Great location at the end of the promenade near the horse tram terminal. Views over the bay from the bedrooms were stunning and the rooms were well stocked, with free soft drinks. Would have been better with fresh milk too and nicer tea/coffee. Toiletries were all of a good standard and beds were comfortable. I asked about any deals on... More

I stayed there for 2 weeks at the end of July and loved the place. The lift is indeed pretty narrow, but it something I wish they never change; it adds to the hotel's charm. It might feel a bit dated, but I prefer to think of it as vintage. The staff is very professional and friendly. Their restaurant is... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and can't really fault the place except they didn't have a stand alone shower in the bathroom, Also the lift must have been the narrowest passenger lift I've ever come across. In fact the last time I used a lift that small it was when I went down the Salt Mines in Krakow and anyone... More

Had a very pleasant business dinner here for a group. Service was attentive and food very well presented and high quality. Quite expensive but justifiable. Willing to make bespoke meals or go off piste from menu. Pleasant dining room with wood panelling and olde worldwide feel.

welcoming and attentive staff makes the experience come to life. The hotel itself is fun downstairs and nicely busy on the nights that I was there. Lounge with a few nice tables and the restaurant serves really good food. Although the breakfast too basic compared to the rest. I was given a big ensuite room- which is outdated yet so... More

I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel. Great location, stylish and with staff and restaurant not to be beaten on the island. I go once a year and am treated with courtesy and friendliness as a returning guest. The breakfasts are magnificent and accommodation comes with free WiFi, a free newspaper of your choice and free soft drinks from... More

Well sited on the quiet end of Douglas prom with bus and horse tram stops right outside this hotel is luxurious without being ostentatious. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is magnificent with original top-quality food, and a very capable maitre d'
