We were a little concerned when we saw some cracks on the exterior of this Victorian hotel, but some repairs were made while we were there. Our room was much larger than in many hotels & we had a lovely view across the bay. The lift only holds 3. The service was good. Meals are buffet style & there's plenty... More

A comfortable refurbished hotel,I found the the staff very helpful, smartly dressed in uniform. I stayed on half board, all meals help yourself carvery/buffet style.Great food and nice clean roomy restaurant overlooking the bay, there was in house entertainment each evening, not too romantic as it was in the restaurant, the bar small. Finding your bedroom can present a problem... More

I travelled to the Isle of Man with a party of eight the staff at the hotel were brilliant nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were clean and bright, and the food was excellent. Although the hotel has rather narrow corridors this didn't detract from our enjoyment of our stay. When relatives visited us at the hotel tea and... More

I stayed in the chesterhouse hotel recently for the IOM TT. Very clean hotel. Staff were great. Could do with a little modernisation but no complaints otherwise. Very central. Need to upgrade the wifi as it's only available in reception. Will visit again.

Clean, tidy, friendly hotel. Right in the middle of everything, close to restaurants, bars, shops and on the sea front. Staff couldn't have been better and full of tips on what to do and where to go. Great breakfast options also. Will definitely come back.

At the end of May a group of 30 people from Nailsea and District Footpath Group visited the Isle of Man for a walking holiday, and stayed at the Chesterhouse Hotel for 6 nights. The hotel was excellent and the staff were always friendly and helpful. One day we returned wet, so they put a coat rail in the library... More

Well situated in Douglas for the ferry, shops, buses and train. About half hour walk to the Electric Railway but Im sure buses would have been available. For a hotel there was a good selection of food and plenty of it including a roast every evening. The vegetables were rather overcooked for my liking but others in the group were... More

Staff extremely friendly and helpful, food and service excellent. As it's an old building, some rooms are cramped with 4ft double beds. Front twin rooms are great. Lift available. Great position near to bus stops, steam train, sea terminal, shops and visitor centre. Would return.

Good food, lots of it, rooms clean and comfortable but a little dated, TV small (as was double bed). Food hearty and well cooked - plus unlimited amounts. Entertainment ranged from OK to very good (the latter was John Lee). Nice shower but bathroom very small. View from rear facing room was towards a concrete wall - but not a... More
