Stayed here as part of an overflow from a coach group. Wonderful room on the seafront with marvellous views all along the promenade. Room was large, comfortable, clean and we were lucky enough to have a shower instead of a bath/shower. All the staff we met were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Open meal times... The Chesterhouse is in a great location on the promenade within 2 mins walk of Douglas City centre. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room I stayed in had no views except for a wall (room108). The noise (very loud) from the extracter fan starts from about 6am to about 11pm so was unable to have the windows... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great stay. Our room was at the back ot the hotel (room 311) and it was a bit noisy late at night as it sits above a lane used by late revellers but that`s not the fault of the hotel. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming and the breakfast... More

We arrived at this hotel with a coach party and were made very welcome. First of all the food was excellent, two nights entertainment (in our five days there) the staff were very friendly and nothing too much trouble for them. BUT the bedroom was awful. I think it must have been a single room but they had put twin... More

I recently stayed here for five days and quite honestly couldn't find fault with anything, although on my own I had a double bed, plenty of space to walk either side and a decent sized bathroom, all very clean with a daily service to replace used towels etc; the choice of food was very good, breakfast was a good selection...nobody could say... Stayed here for 3 days in a large room on the first described as 'executive' that overlooked the promanade and bay. Buffet breakfast was good, staff were helpful and friendly but we had trouble sleeping due to the location of the room. Guests moving around, slamming doors, talking loudly and lugging luggage into the lift at 5AM in the morning... More

I was very disappointed with this hotel as I booked the "executive room". The view from my room was amazing. But the noise from the main road was very loud. I could comfortably hear people outside after a few drinks. The windows are in need of an outside clean. I was on the 2nd floor and my door opened up... More

Having messed up my internet booking the receptionist was very helpful and was able to allocate me a room . She did tell me it was nothing special but it was ok . It is a nice guest house with ok facilities nothing fancy but but does the job . Rooms do get warm and the food is simple plain... More

Very disappointed with the executive suit, the bathroom was a hazard as it was not big enough, had no hand rail for getting in or out of bath, shower on wall was inadequate for washing as it was too close to the wall. The toilet was hard to get to because of the size of bathroom, bathroom was about 3Feet x... More

Stayed here (for the second time) as part of a coach tour. Although a solo traveller I had an excellent seaview room on the first floor; not large but it was fine for my needs with en suite shower room. There was a lift but did not use it. Buffet style breakfast and dinner with excellent carvery and plenty of... More
