This hotel was overall just OK. We had a room overlooking the prom which was the only plus. The room was very big, the bed was also very big, not bad as regards comfort. But the carpet was fiflthy, the easy chairs were fiflthy and we had to ask for a piece of wire to be removed from one of... more

were apparently up graded from a sister hotel the week we were due to visit. took them a few weeks to let us know that our original hotel was not even open during winter!. No problems with hotel itself but would of been a lot pleasenter if the staff smiled, from the receptionists to the restaurant staff, maybe just once.... more

Good luck trying to book into this hotel. I was passed from pillar to post, from one recorded message to another. The hotel itself doesn't take bookings, they passed me to their central reservations number, which were closed (at 4pm on a weekday - an hour earlier than they were supposed to be), then I was diverted to a sister... more

The claremont in Douglas is right on thr front of the prom with amazing views, however we had a room at the back with walls for views. On saying that, the room we had was great - apart from the huge carpet stain by the wardrobe. There was a separate lounge area in another room. There was a good tea tray... more

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last couple of months for business. My overall impression is that is it OK. The rooms I have had have varied from travel lodge (just about enough room to walk around the bed) to a nice sized suite with sitting room. I have found the cleanliness to be above average.... more

We stayed over the weekend and arrived late after meeting the groom of the wedding we were attending on the Saturday. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 children. We were promised platinum suite overlooking bay, having viewed previous comments this will be no surprise, we did get the room i.e the spacious room but overlooking grotty alley... more

We had specifically booked a Platinum Executive Room for the August Bank Holiday, described on the hotel’s own website as having “a spacious seating area with stunning views overlooking Douglas Bay”, so we felt terribly disappointed when upon arrival and due to “maintenance problems” we found ourselves downgraded to a standard room with just enough space to walk around the... more

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now for work. The staff are very polite and attentive. The rooms have been recently renovated and are of a reasonable size. Being on the sea front gives you a great view out over the promenade. However the rooms at the back do not afford much of a view at all. The... more

We stayed in a large 2nd floor room overlooking the promenade, this was the only good thing about the room. Where do I start ? The carpet was absolutely disgustingly dirty and stained in many places along with 3 iron burns....I don't think it was vaccumed during our 6 night stay.......it's the only place I've been when I had to... more

I booked this hotel for Easter bank holiday (three nights) However, we couldn't go because there were high winds across the Irish Sea and the boat couldn't sail. On Good Friday morning, I rang the hotel to cancel the booking. The girl on the phone appeared to be very understanding. She said that we would have to pay for that... more
