Our double room was just about big enough for the bed with nowehere to sit comfortably. Priced at good hotel rates but definitely not worth the money. Owners obviously doing up but a long way to go. Fortunately got good weather so didn't need to spend too much time in the room. more

We too arrived to find there was no record of our booking thanks to the previous owners but Hannife and Mary went out of their way to accomodate us. Friendly hosts and staff. Clean rooms. Excellent breakfast and a relaxed atmosphere in the quiet bar made for an enjoyable stay. We would certainly return if the situation arose. Good luck... more

I have stayed at the Savoy twice this year and the only complaint I have is that I couldn't stay for longer. Mary and Haniff make you feel extremely welcome and will go to great lengths to ensure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. The whole place is clean and tidy and with the paint job complete it looks... more

I arrived at the Savoy on Sunday 30th August only to find that due to a change of ownership since I made my booking online back in September 2008, the hotel had no record of my reservation. Tired after a long journey and ferry crossing, this was, to say the least, NOT what I wanted to hear... This was not... more

We arrived for 3 nights stay for the Manx GP. We had not booked a hotel although we had stayed in many hotels on the island over the years and knew we would find availability at some point. The savoy is well known to me from past visits to the island and I can understand the old negative reviews before... more

We arrived late at the Savoy. Could,nt get hold of staff; eventually we were given key to our room . We decided to walk uo stairs as lift looked prehistoric. When we went into our room we got the shock of our life. Decor had not changed since probably the 70's. Painted over wallpaper coming off in various places. Bathroom... more

After reading the reviews i would just like to add a few comments, firstly and most importantly check the grade of your hotel, the savoy is a 1 diamond the lowest of the grades, read what you should expect from a 1 diamond hotel written by the tourist board and you will soon realise that the savoy offers much more... more

Well after reading and visiting the reviews of the savoy hotel...i write. The hotel is old actually 130 years old, she is good place to stay...open your eyes and look around and see what is left on douglas seafront. Falling down hotels, luxury apartments, pubs and clubs. I myself found my room very clean comftable, breakfast was superb, tracy the... more
