Hotel is a lovely large Victorian building and well kept. Staff are friendly and hotel is clean. We had a room facing the boilers and couldn't sleep because of the noise. Wifi is free but limited. They seem to block you from many sites and apps.

We booked the family in for Sunday lunch at the carver y yesterday .We had three small grandchildren and I am currently in a wheelchair. The service and facilities were fantastic and could not be faulted. The food was delicious and of a wide selection. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely go back again .

I stayed here one night for work. Dated but pleasant room with a wonderful sea view. Large bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Came across the atrium area going to breakfast and it was a lovely find. Breakfast was good, included the usual things like cooked full english, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, toast. I wish I could have stayed longer... More

Great location, stunning views from rooms & dining room, friendly staff, reasonably priced (especially the bar!). We had a huge sea-view room on the 4th floor. Very comfortable. Bathroom planning was a little strange but the window was fantastic. Great view from the throne! If only the common areas were updated then it would be worthy of it's 4 stars.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and thank you for your five star rating. As you say, the views from the Sefton are strunning, although we didn't appreciate they could be viewed from such an angle! As always, we are pleased to hear that you found our staff friendly and your room comfortable. We hope to... More

First impressions were very friendly, room though was very dated and looked more like a room furnished in the 60's.Glass was cracked in the bathroom but my main complaint was the constant noise from the staffroom which was very near mine.Even at 5am,i heard a lot of noise.Food in the evening was very good in the restaurant, but quite expensive.Breakfast however was... Spent a few nights at the Sefton in August and would happily stay again. The room was well equipped and spacious and the staff were very welcoming. I enjoyed the breakfast which, unlike so many places these days, included black pudding on the menu. The hotel is ideally situated on the front within easy walking distance of the beach and... More

I stayed at the Sefton at the end of July during a Drama Festival at the Gaiety Theatre. I was on my own and booked a deluxe double room with an atrium view. The room was beautiful, spacious and tastefully fitted. However where this hotel stands out is it's huge array of services. It was uncharacteristically hot when I visited,... More

We had booked a family room 227 i was told that it didn't have a sea view but i hadn't anticipated quite how depressing the outlook was. This was compounded by the chiller unit outside the window which appeared to rattle on intermittently all night. Noisy enough to shut the windows but horribly stuffy as a result. We decided that... We spent two nights at the Sefton (4/5 August 2014) and though it was a good location and staff were welcoming the hotel hardly lived up to its 4 stars. Our room, in the hotel's atrium area, was a disappointment in that it was located in what turned out to be a tropical hell. The atrium area is covered by... More

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We are sorry to hear that you experienced problems with the temperature of our Atrium rooms. We have had an unseasonably hot period for the Isle of Man - normally we have the benefit of an on shore breeze and hence this is not normally a big issue for us.... More

Loved our stay at this historic hotel. It has an originality and quaintness to it which is lovely- where else would you see a sign saying "Lift to rooms with a 9 as their middle number". The atrium rooms are beautiful with balconies overlooking indoor fishponds and fountains (which are thoughtfully turned off at night) and our room was well... More
