The Sefton is supposedly one of the better hotels in town. Our check-in was a little chaotic and slow because we were queuing behind a wedding group and some of them seemed to have wrongly booked – it took three people looking at the same computer terminal to resolve the issue. It was only when we were in our room... More

Just returned after six nights at The Sefton as part of a coach party. We had a very nice room, well furnished and large, with a balcony overlooking the splendid Atrium. In really warm weather the lack of air conditioning might be a problem as there is no direct way of admitting fresh air with no outside opening windows and... More

A pleasant and satisfying break due to highly professional and attentive staff. The wine list in the restaurant should give the country of origin of the wines. The pool is small, rather sweet but small.

Walking along the seafront and a statue of Norman Wisdom caught my eye along with a billboard saying Carvery. The bar was busy and had to ask staff for directions. The restaurant is on the first floor passing by a lovely Atrium. I was really impressed by the building. We were greeted by a very professional young man who was... More

I really don't get some of the negative reviews for this hotel. Stayed in a top floor Atrium room and couldn't have been happier with the accommodation or service. Room was clean and well appointed, and when requested a late checkout this was granted immediately with no excess charge.

Having previously stayed at The Sefton many years ago, it seemed an obvious choice that we should stay here again. Looking on the website the photos gave the impression that it is still a luxury hotel. How wrong can one be?. We arrived and given our room pass, I noticed first of all that we had been allocated a room,... More

The hotel looks to the sea, some rooms have a small balcony to the inner garden. The room is perfectly clean and comfortable. Hairdyer is provided on request. The hotel is like a maze with several coridors, elevators and colour codes, but this adds to the concept of an elegant traditional hotel. The staff members are helpful and very kind.... More

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. As you say the hotel is like a maze. The Sefton first opened its doors in 1892 with various sections and wings being added over the years but we believe this only adds to its overall character. We are pleased you found your room clean and comfortable and thank you... More
