Just dont go there. Not enough room here to list the reasons why I would tell anyone to steer clear of this place. Total rip-off, not even a "real" Hilton. more

You can tell this Hilton Hotel is now run by Sefton (It’s competitor on the island). The difference in this place from when I first arrived on this island as a resident and now when I leave is unbelievable. A period of only 4 years I hasten to add. One gets the impression that Sefton Hotels who operate this place,... more

Funny, all I could think about when I was there (2 weeks) was that the hotel was 20 years out of date - and those were the exact comments I came here and found after the fact. The major positive: the food was excellent quality and taste (breakfast & dinner buffets). However, while I could overlook the half-completed repairs on... more

Having booked this hotel before we read the reviews on this site, we were expecting the worst. True what people say about the look of the hotel and the reception area. Very dated and not appealing at all. We arrived early soaking wet due to being caught in a rain storm whilst walking along the sea front from the bus... more

I stayed in the Hilton, Douglas for two nights while in the IoM on business. On entering the hotel you feel like you've stepped back in time about 20 years, it's very dated and smells of stale smoke. Plus all the signage for the Casino and night club on the ground floor don't help any with the impression of the... more

We stayed at this hotel from 15th to 19th April 2009. It is some 15 to 25 minutes walk from the town centre and habour area, being situated on the promenade, It was a truly pitiful experience. See the picture of the night time view of the hotel, on their website, and you may be lulled into thinking this is... more

Poor first impression: main entrance is through a dilapidated car park. Reception looks tired - in need of refurbishment. Main problem was noise - adults and children allowing bedroom doors to BANG shut instead of closing them. Adults returning to their rooms in the eatly hours talking LOUDLY with no concern for those who may be trying to sleep. Motor... more

There are real problems here - the tv didn't work, the bathroon couldn't have been smaller, the patio-doors with the see view offered no sound insulation (and creaked ALL night), food an service in the restaurant was motorway service standard, bar service when he felt like it; lobby floor smells of cooking oil; but the bed was comfy. Just not... more

Felt compelled to write a review as, like many other reviewers, usually stay at the Sefton and had been warned that the Hilton just didn't cut it. I booked the King Suite as it's advertised as a smoking room on the website. Although the hotel is actually totally non-smoking (in fact all the hotels on Isle of Man seem to... more

I work as cabin crew and stay in this hotel about 3 times a month for 2-3 days. We have no say in where our company book for us but this hotel is ok, its by no means the best hotel in douglas but it is in a good location for tourists. The rooms are quite small but have all... more
