Cubbon House sits on Douglas Promenade about 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. It's an old Edwardian building and as such has it's limiltations but the decoration and carpetting was clean . It currently appeals to the budget end of the market with prices (March 2009) at £36 per night B &B. On entry the first thing of note is that all the bedrooms are up 4 flights of stairs. We were last minute bookers so may not have got the 'roomiest' room, our room had a bed and ensuite facilities (shower & toilet). It's fair to say that there wasn't an awful lot of room to move about - the bed took up most of the room but the room was comfortable enough within it's limitations. The bed was comfortable and the heating fine, although we'd have liked to have been able to open the window as we prefer a cooler room to sleep in.
