My wife and two children 12 and 8 spent five days at this very peaceful Victorian villa located in Ventnor. Upon arrival we were greeted by the proprietor who showed us to our family room at the top of the guesthouse. We were very happy with our room and it was immaculate. It had all you would expect and plenty... More

We have recently returned from another lovely relaxing break at St Maur. We always know that we will be well looked after. The owners are always helpful and very friendly and we feel at home as soon as we arrive. We thoroughly enjoy the wholesome and substantial meals, all the staff are extremely attentive and cheerful, and the standard of... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights as we met on the island and had not visited for about twenty years. The hotel is very pleasant, a lovely period building with photos in the reception showing some of its history but maybe it's a little dated in places. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, happy to... More

We booked this place on line and as we haven't done this very much were a little worried of what we would find but this place was wonderful, clean, very friendly and warming service. We were extremely disappointed with what we were seeing on the Isle and feeling rather 'flat' but as soon as we saw and met the owners... More

Just wanted to say how much myself and my partner enjoyed this hotel; For the price (we took up an offer advertised in a National Newspaper) it was brilliant. Lovely quiet room, modern looking, good size, clean and had great views..and very quiet which is a rarity now days. Food was very nice and plentiful, traditional long courses and staff... More

The usual excellent friendly service. Close to the park and cliff walks. From the top rooms beautiful views over the park and water. Quiet location so relaxing. Run by such lovely people and staff, no wonder we come back for more each year.

Enjoyed a 3 night break and must say how impressed we were with the cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom and the comfortable bed. Also enjoyed the food and the friendly /attentive staff. Very pleasant lounge and bar.

If you're looking for Nouvelle Cuisine or pretentious "fine dining" - then St Maur is not for you. If, however, you are seeking a very friendly, hospitable hotel, with a warm, caring staff, exceptionally comfortable rooms and marvellous home-cooked meals, sourced mainly from local produce, look no further. St Maur Hotel, Ventnor is the place. We have been visiting for... More

We stayed for a mid-week break and were pleased to discover the bedroom and bathroom were large and kept spotlessly clean. The hotel has a comfortable self service bar and a separate large lounge with Tea & Coffee on tap after dinner. The family/staff were friendly and attentive and the food was both good and plentiful. I didn't manage all... More
