Yes it could do with a lick of paint in some places but don't most hotels in this price range. Yes the parking is snug. But they are the only downsides. We had one of the super deluxe rooms with a wrap around balcony which was great; nice to have decent sun lounger/chair rather than the cheap plastic you get... More

We have just returned from this hotel after a 4 night stay and i must say i just love staying in hotels with history and character .The views from our super deluxe double room were fantastic. we stayed in room 23 and our balcony was massive .It was so relaxing listening to the lapping of the waves falling to sleep... Run down, outdated hotel. Balcony doors don't shut properly, entrance door wide open at night with no receptionist around, safety hazard. Metal railings rusted. Walls stained with cracks in the room and corridors, carpet stained, unobtainable wifi, rotten and dirty windows blocking sea view, furniture very outdated. Wardrobe smell of damp. Steps down to the beach slippery and need weeding.... More

We stayed here for three nights in August. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was a good size. There is ready access to Ventnor beach via the steps at the rear of the hotel. We had no problem sorting out Wi-Fi access at reception during our stay. The breakfast was good too. The only negatives were that... More

This August my wife and I with our two children (11 and 6 years) completed our 8th consecutive summer on the Isle of Wight staying at The Wellington Hotel, Ventnor. The reasons for this, a unique classically styled Hotel, wonderful location, great sea views from your balcony and above all a lovely welcome, clean functional rooms and a great breakfast!... More

Had the pleasure of staying at the Wellington hotel from July 9th to the 13th . Booked a Seaview room and what a view we had . I would imagine that the hotel in winter gets battered by the strong winds and rain but they seem to maintain the building very well. The room was tastefully decorated with a good... More

I and my other half booked this hotel for her birthday weekend and the pictures on tripadvisor showed a very romantic and quaint hotel with great views etc...how ever...upon arrival we were greeted in reception by the over powering smell of stale cigarettes and damp, and a receptionist who seemed more interested in playing her nintendo hand held game than... This hotel is terrible. The decor was dated and paint was peeling off the walls. The balcony was rusty and you could not even sit on the seats. The patio doors were rusty and difficult to open, it was moulded. The bathroom was dirty. I reported this, but no one did anything! At most you would pay but a few... More

Oh dear, it's a good job my better half was not with me this trip. Firstly, there was a good scattering of short black curly hairs on the toilet seat and bathroom floor. Then, ythe walls are paper thin, so I heard everything, and I mean everything the neighbours had to vocally give. The TV did not work, and to... More

Came with family to visit relatives and was surprised at the hotel's character and uniqueness. After being told where our room was, we got an overall outlook on what the hotels interior was like - mostly nicely converted, but shabby on the paint jobs. Breakfast was delicious, but outdoor eating area had seen better days - missing chairs and tables/holes... More
