I usually reserve my reviews for outstandingly good services, however on this occasion I decided to change this habit. I booked this hotel at what was not a budget rate on Hotel.com. However being promised a luxury bathroom and patio in addition to a luxury room, I decided to go for it. Imagine my disappointment when we had a first... More

Gorgeous B and B (more so than a hotel) with wonderful rooms and surrounding gardens. It's perfectly situated over the town center and an easy walk to just about any where. The only downside was the Inn Keepers could have been friendlier. We were chastised on our arrival back from dinner for bringing two waters and a bottle of wine... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the Hillside. We were greeted very warmly by Emma who showed us round and told us what we needed to know. The house is beautiful - very pretty and immaculately kept. I loved the sleek modern style. Our room was small and simple but clean with a nice seaview. You could hear the road... More

Here is what is so good about Hillside! 1. The position. Beautiful and extensive gardens overlooking the Victorian resort of Ventnor and the sea. 2. Truly excellent cuisine. The breakfasts were superb, providing a very wide choice. So nice to have haddock and poached egg as well as the Full English Breakfast on the menu. The dinners also were excellent... More

Yet another faultless review ! The minute you go in and are warmly greeted by Emma or Gert, the balm of white walls, soft lighting, cream furnishings, colourful art, wooden floors, I could go on, relaxes you. The dining room, very Danish in design, has the most amazing views, through the conservatory, and the food is ambrosial, at breakfast try... More

I'm not sure this place really needs yet another glowing review but here goes! I've recently returned from my first visit to the Isle of Wight (which I thought was delightful) and my stay at Hillside played a major part in making my long weekend such fun. The location is the first amazing thing you notice, perched on a hill... More

Our first stay in this gorgeous guest house. We stayed in the Stables which was perfect for us. We had our own space with plenty of room. The gardens are immaculate. The love and attention that the owners have dedicated to their home, that they then welcome strangers to, is admirable. The full english is the best I've ever had.... More

Hillside Hotel is one of my favorite vacation spots. The atmosphere of the Isle of Wight is laid back and quant, perfect for rejuvenation. The Hillside Hotel makes the experience that much better, it is by far the nicest hotel I've stayed in. Clean and beautiful! The staff at the hotel is always happy and helpful. 5 stars experience from... More

Well after hearing people talk about it it lived up to all expectation after managing to park (think it could be a nightmare as parking is limited) we were greeted at the door and showed into a small intimate room where we sat and had a few drinks and ordered and then showed to our table the waiter was great... Hillside is a beautiful and very well run establishment. The decor is fresh and spotless. The food is top quality, home grown, home made and wonderful. It is advertised as a hotel but it is more of a top quality B&B. It does not have the more impersonal feeling that a hotel can offer and you do feel like you... More
