Stunning property with a very friendly welcome. Owners are lovely and very helpful a real find for our short weekend break. The house is very interesting and the views and surrounding areas perfect. If you dont mind a drive out to just past Ventnor then this accomadation is great for a family to saty within a historically perfectly kept grand... More

Lisle Combe is a lovely old manor house in acres of grounds which were once a delightful garden. The house has seen better days but Ruth and Robert are doing their best to keep it up together and it is an interesting house with lovely high ceilings, a grand staircase, mullioned windows, lots of gables, steps up and down into... A beautiful house in a stunning location. I found it a rare opportunity to stay in a place that's so steeped in history. There's so much to discover - not only all the books and artefacts but the extensive gardens outside and even a secret beach! The house has been in the same family for generations and we got a... Stepping out of the car into scorching July sunshine, I was immediately struck by the impressive Elizabethan facade of this island stone building, its sandy colour a beach contrast to the sea of bright blue sky above. Two stone dogs guarded the castle-like entrance. Real dogs barked a response to my doorbell, of the friendly, tail-wagging variety, family pets of... More

We know this area but the house is so well tucked away that we initially drove straight by before locating it. What a fabulous house crammed full of memorabilia of all sorts. The owners are very accomodating and I wandered around for an hour sampling the bookshelves1 Cream tea was delicious as was the breakfast. We intend to go back... More

Had a lovely two night stay in this lovely historic house from a bygone age. Beautiful grounds and beautiful views from the bedroom. Ruth & Robert were lovely hosts and their two small boys charming. Would love to go back in the summer to ramble their 10 acre gardens. Loved the big refrectory table for breakfast and the log burning... More

I chose Lisle Combe for my girlfriend, myself and our two other friends as we liked the historic look to it - Georgian with an Edwardian twist. It is nothing short of a hidden treasure on the south of the island. We stayed in two of the three bedrooms and had the whole of the East wing and grounds to... More

We endorse the positive comments of previous guests. We stayed here for three nights during a chilly and damp June. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were good. The house is full of interesting furniture and pictures and memorabilia of Alfred Noyes, grandfather of the present owner. The grounds extend to the coastal path along which... More

Greeted by two huge stone statues of dogs and a double door leading to a hallway full of eclectic props, pictures and prose we immediately knew that this house was something different. Walking from the hallway you can find the drawing room complete with piano and period pieces, perfect for an afternoon tea or an evening glass of wine. Next... More
