I'm cycling the coast of England and Wales and was looking for a good base on the Isle of Wight. The owners of Hayes Barton, Chris and Joan, were welcoming and extremely friendly hosts. Nothing - nothing at all - was too much trouble. I had a valuable bike, which they were happy to lock in their shed. I had... More

Absolutely brilliant. Excellent location away from traffic yet close to Old Town and High Street means easy access to Shanklin High Street and good nights' sleep, room very comfortable and good quality towels and linen, breakfast/evening meals wonderful - my wife is a coeliac so it was terrific that she never had to query if the meals were gluten free.... Have returned to Hayes Barton several times and have not been disappointed, I think in fact each time has been better. The bedroom we stayed in this time was newly decorated. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Will certainly be going back!

The old saying is very true in this case, arrive as strangers leave as friends. My wife Kath and I have just experienced a wonderfully relaxed break here on the IoW. Joan, Chris & team work extremely hard to make this possible, along with Jean in the restaurant. The accommodation, is excellent, the food is superb, well presented and with... More
