The worse hotel I think we have ever stayed. The wardrobes were falling to pieces, the washbasin was cracked along with lots of tiles. The bed was v lumpy and our outlook was the dustbin area. Will never visit again. Seriously needs dragging into modern times.

I am not a fussy traveler and I am easily pleased, but this hotel has disappointed me from the very first moment I stepped in: first of all staff at the reception not very welcoming, then the whole aspect and layout of the hotel resembles very much with one of a nursing home, a very dated one. We've had to... More

After reading reviews we were dreading staying. Have to say the bedding, towels, breakfast cutlery and crockery were spotless. The owner, his wife and son were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are basic but the big problems are the bathrooms (damp but clean) and the sound proofing which is non existent. The views are amazing and with a bit of... More

Going in, I was pretty apprehensive after reading all the reviews. Maybe my expectations were lower, but I was very pleasantly surprised by what I saw. The rooms were very comfortable, perhaps a little dated, but not poorly-maintained, in any case. Its in a beautiful location with great sea views. I strongly recommend going out to see the sunrise.

Potential for a great hotel. Location and sea views excellent. Unfortunately the hotel lacks good administration in terms of booking competently, managing parking, overseeing staff and providing quality food and service. Basic security compromised by blocking fire doors open. Cleaning of a superficial nature.

A very disappointing stay. We had heard negative comments about this place but it was only place available in our price range. From our arrival it was obvious this was not a warm and welcoming hotel. On checking in at reception the desk person didnt welcome us or say anything to us until he told us our room number and... More

First impressions, no lift, a lot of stairs and steps with a heavy suitacase but was offered help taking it up the stairs, Corridors winding and a bit smelly, room small and tatty on first impressions. Shower cubicle small (and nearly clean), expelair working but noisy, toilet clean but washbasin in room not by toilet. toilet door had no latch... More

Great location with only a minute walk to the seaside & 5 minutes walk to Shanklin Chime. It's run by a family and all of them were very approachable & helpful. I was impressed with their hospitality. Some rooms got issues with hot water mixing which sometimes is too hot or cold ( which I believe is in process of... More

Great location for a hotel shame it's so very tired friendly helpful staff as no tea/coffee in room or TV remote on arrival. Cooked breakfast was over priced for what you get. I'd say for the price I paid you'd expect breakfast in with the price.

I have to say this is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Such a shame as the location is lovely. The hotel is in such a poor state of repair. The keys seem to fit all of the rooms. When we arrived we were given the key to our room, 21. By accident I opened 27 to find... More
