Dark and dated, old fashioned and foreign staff who had difficulty in understand any request at the dining table. We were in an attic room with possibly the worst shower in history; had we not been on a coach trip, we would have left immediately after being shown this room. Fellow guests showed us their rooms and they were of... more

This response relates to the above comments which in my opinion are totally absurd , clearly these clients have not travelled before and certainly don't know the difference in star ratings , however The Marlborough Hotel for being a 2 star rated provides and offers above expected good standards of accommodation , excellent customer services and good value for money...

I think this hotel is nice overall, although obviously with the exceptional wet summer it infringed on the enjoyment of the holiday. The hotel is a bit rough around the edges- little bits lose/ chipped here and there, but the friendlyness of the staff and quality of meals makes up for this. I would recommend it but try not to... more

Stayed here on a coach trip (Tinsel &Turkey). The hotel accomadation is on 3 floors. Ground Floor has: Dinning Room. Some Bedrooms. Bar/Lounge/entertainment area 1st and 2nd Floors. Other Bed Rooms. The hotel does not have a lift although there is a chair lift to some of the rooms on the 1st floor. This not the place for anybody that... more

would never stay at this hotel again, the first night we were there water leaked in all onto the bedding, the manager was rude to 1 woman, the shower didnt work properly, there was mould all over the bedroom wall and bathroom and it stunk of damp in the bathroom. felt as if a heard of elephants were walking above... more

We stayed for 2 nights in July 04 and were pleasantly surprised by the convenient location of the hotel to the beach. The room wasn't actually too bad; very dated furnishings and bedding, but of a reasonable size and clean. Breakfast was pretty good too. Unfortunately that is where the plus points end I'm afraid. The front of the hotel... more

Stayed at the hotel with a coach party. We were very pleased with the accommodation. Bedrooms were well furnished with tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel was very clean and food was excellent, staff friendly. Would definitely consider staying again. The only slight criticism would be the cold bathroom - a heated towel rail would be an advantage! more

We were there as a coach party of 42 for a turkey and tinsel and I can only say it was great. If there is any critisism some of the rooms were a bit small but the big welcome we had more than made up for that. The food was excellent always piping hot service always quick and the staff... more

We were greeted at reception by a friendly helpful guy. Our assigned room faced the rear but he quickly offered us a front facing room opening onto the balcony at the same price (of course, they weren't full). The room was small; in fact cramped. It was difficult to open the bathroom door and impossible to pass between it and... more
