I brought my Group of 42 to the Melbourne Ardenlea last week, and it was one of my best Group Holidaysin 15 years.. Hotel was clean, Food good, Entertainment on several nights, brilliant, and the atmosphere was friendly and tranquil. Idelal setting, and staff were friendly and efficient. No hesitation in visiting again. The Group was made to feel welcome, and... more

the staff were excellent, very helpful and polite and you could have a laugh with them. Bedroom was adequate and clean, only downfall was the television being a portable with bad reception, also only having one chair in the roon meant someone had to sit on the bed to try and watch the small tv.Breakfast was fine, however evening meals... more

When we walked into the hotel I immediately wanted to leave & stay somewhere else, but we couldn't under the terms of our booking!! The hotel was dated & a bit 'grotty' in places with a strange smell in our corridor! We ended up staying for the two nights we'd booked & despite the above the hotel was actually ok... more

This hotel is a family focused hotel, with entertainment throughout the holiday periods. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were smart, clean and tidy. It is an older style hotel but our room appeared to have been recently refurbished. They allowed our dog to stay in the room and were very accomodating to pets. The hotel... more

We stayed in the hotel Monday to Friday, and were very pleased with the food, we were on a coach tour and couldn't fault the meals, there were three choices for dinner and lots of choice for breakfast, and plenty of it. The only complaint we had was that the bathroom sometimes smelled of urine and could really have done... more

We returned here for the first time in three years to find a hotel we already liked had improved in many ways. We have a young family and the swimming pool is invaluable - especially on rainy days. Breakfast is good too as there is a big enough choice to guarantee something for even the pickiest of kids. The service... more

When I booked the Melbourne Ardenlea Hotel I broke the first rule of independant travel......I booked first and read Trip Advisor second. The reviews of this hotel are totally confusing, either a 5 or a 1. Their savage cancellation policy meant I was rather nervous when I booked in. The hotel itself is a typical English seaside hotel, renovated and... more

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and enjoyed every minute! Like a lot of older hotels it needs a bit of a face lift, but the staff are great ,(can't do enough for you and very friendly) it's clean and comfortable - so who cares if you get a pale orange 1970's bathroom? You're not living there for... more

What a lovely hotel. Stayed for three nights in March. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. The room was bright and we had a lovely view down to the sea. Breakfast was cooked fresh daily and there was plenty of it. If you want a relaxing break this hotel is perfect!! more
