Booked this fabulous guesthouse for a short getaway for my husband & I. I knew we would get there late & had already emailed the owner to let her know. She was very accommodating with this. On our arrival, we were greeted by her & her husband, a welcoming & helpful couple. The room was spotless, very comfortable & books... More

So pleased we found this place considering the look of the places opposite with scary dolls in the windows! ! The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and we'll equipped. Breakfast is amazing, will definitely go back! Thank you for a lovely stay.

This was I first time on the Isle Of Wight and we could not have picked a better places to stay than The Old Shanklin Guest House. The welcome was great, the room was spot on and the breakfast was really nice, with a choice you would normally expect from a much bigger establishment. The location is in the heart... More

What a great place, we were greeted personally at the door and shown to our lovely, well appointed room. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, great produce cooked with love. The room was nicely decorated, the bathroom large and the freebie soaps, tea, coffee etc all of good quality. My wife was also impressed that they provided a nice powerful hair... More

Thanks so much for your review. We do indeed have 4 parking spaces and 5 rooms, so the Captain's Room does not come with a parking space. (Described as basic double room on agent websites). We try to make this as clear as possible, so as not to mislead people. Bonchurch, St Helens, Godshill & Tennyson rooms have the parking.... More

If you are looking for somewhere central in Shanklin then the Old Shanklin Guest House is the place to stay. We had a warm welcome and the rooms are clean and warm. The breakfast is resourced locally and were prepared to Michelin star standards. We stayed three nights and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly - well worth the visit. Jackie & John

Arriving in the dark it took a number of passes along the road to locate the guest house, but once inside we were warmly welcomed by Sarah & Gareth. The room was spacious & spotless, with a large ensuite. We slept soundly in a very comfortable bed, particularly after days out walking around the area and throughly enjoyed the breakfast... More

Hi Clare, You certainly made the most of it despite the weather. We will have a look at the remote control, it may be something as simple as batteries. Thanks for being specific. Hope to see you both again. Kind regards Sarah More

A friendly welcome, clean room, relaxing guest lounge and off road parking. Our bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely return. We were particularly impressed with quality of the breakfast items, the black pudding was the best we have ever had. The folder of information was helpful, although we would... More

Hi Alison, Thank you for your review. It's nice to hear that you had a pleasant and relaxing time. Obviously it wasn't perfect and we would genuinely value your feedback as to what could have made it better. This is the time of the year to let us know, so we can consider it when we do our winter work.... More

Just about 100 yards off the high street of Old Shanklin with it's off road parking, (except for one of the rooms) this a great place to stay. The varied breakfasts are nicely cooked and presented, including a daily "exotic" offering. Plenty of good quality restaurants close by for your evening meal. (no need for Taxis). One other point is... More

Denise & Garry enjoyed the stay, a superb Guest House with excellent accommodation and a perfect breakfast. Sarah and Gareth are a lovely couple and extremely helpful. We will stay again and would certainly recommend to others. Thank you both.

This has to be the best guest house I have stayed in . The rooms are big and decorated to a high standard. Breakfast is amazing with lots to choose from. The owners Sarah and Gareth are the most friendly people you could meet.
