We haven't always been totally convinced by glowing reviews on TripAdvisor; sometimes we have come away disappointed, and wondered how ever they had become so popular. Not so this time. Sarah and Gareth have so clearly done their best to make the accommodation comfortable, and the breakfast enjoyable that they fully deserve their spot at No.1 in Shanklin. Like anything... More

We first stayed at Mr&Mrs OSGH in 2012 and have recently been back again. Our stay was perfect we were greeted on arrival and made to feel relaxed straight away. We were offered tea and cake freshly baked :) Prior to arrival they were happy to book us in at a restaurant. The room is set to a high standard... More

For a lesson in how to run a guest house, this is it! We chose the guest house to take my mother for her 80th Birthday; she had not been back to the IOW since 1955! From the warm reception on arrival, to the fabulous rooms (we stayed in St. Helens and the Bonchurch Suite), to the magnificent breakfast, we... More

My wife and I stayed at the guest house over a Friday and Saturday to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. My wife had chosen the location based on thorough research on tripadvisor. We were greeted by the lady of the house are offered a cup of tea in the residents lounge which was a nice touch. My wife nudged me... More

Thank you for taking the time to make your comments. Being 5 star is not something we have awarded ourselves, but is an accolade from Visit England, as is our breakfast award, which is awarded and reviewed yearly based on their criteria. There is sometimes confusion over the different types of rating. We are 5 star Guest Accommodation – not... More

Warm welcome from Sarah. Beautiful room with en-suite and a really comfy massive bed! Plenty to choose for breakfasts. The full English breakfast is a winner! Great location, would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

Stayed in the Bonchurch Suite for 4 nights. Big room, big bed, big bathroom and big breakfast. What more could you want? Well if you had a wide car maybe a wider entrance. No problem with ours. Nearby Crab Inn for meals was excellent, so went 4 nights running.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We noticed that you gave a couple of 4/5 and a 3/5 and would genuinely be interested in how you think we could improve, especially on the 3/5. Please feel free to email us. We hope to welcome you again. Sarah More

Ok, so parking is limited but that is all I have to gripe about and I'm the world's worst critique. Gareth's welcome with a pot of tea was... um very welcoming. The room was clean, well decorated and functional; the view, although not awful didn't have a wow factor but we didn't book it for the view. It's location near... More

My wife and I stayed over the Easter bank holiday 2013 weekend and were made to feel so welcome. The Bonchurch room, bedroom and on-suite were magnificent, decorated to a very high standard and spacious. The other rooms are also decorated to the same high standard. The breakfast was top class and nothing was too much trouble. Sarah and Gareth... More

We stayed in the Bonchurch Suite for my birthday weekend. Sarah was really welcoming, the room was lovely and there was loads of info in the room about where to go and more importantly, where not to go! Both Sarah and Gareth were really helpful over breakfast each morning, advising on where to go, despite the snow! We had some... More

We're so glad you enjoyed yourselves despite your unexpected white birthday! We do indeed have 4 parking spaces. The Captain's Room does not have parking, but the other 4 rooms do. We do highlight this on both our website and third party booking agents' websites. We made a decision to always have the Captain's room without parking, as it is... More

Myself and my partner were looking for somewhere to stay for a short trip on IOW and were open to where we might base ourselves. I am glad we chose Shanklin. The Old Shanklin Guest House was the highest rated and to be honest the offer of 2 nights for 11/2 made it more appealing!!! We were concerned about parking... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. With regard to the hand soap, this was a complete oversight on my part. There should of been hand made soap in the bathroom.
