This was our second stay at Old Shanklin Guest House. My husband and I love this place. We stayed in the Bonchurch suite which has a wonderfully comfy bed. We slept in every day and felt so relaxed throughout our trip. The house and rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, spacious and great value for money. The location is perfect as... More

A return visit, this time in November. It’s very conveniently situated for anyone without a car. The ferry across the Solent is met by the train (old London Underground train with springy seats!) and it’s just a short walk from Shanklin railway station to Old Shanklin Guest House. My room was spacious, warm and spotlessly clean with a very comfortable... More

Thanks Penny, The Island is a great place in the Winter. There's lots of walking, although it has been a rather wet one and of course there's the Island's all year round music scene. Hope the crossing back wasn't too rocky! Kind regards Sarah More

My wife and I stayed at the Old Shanklin guest house in November 2015 for a long weekend. It's easy to get here from the ferry via car. We were warmly greeted by Sarah and Gareth on arrival. After a brief chat we were shown to our room but not before being offered a cup of tea. The room was... More

We stayed here for a friends wedding and what a welcoming and top quality stay it was. Breakfast was delicious and made to order, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Amazing decor and great convenience for where we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here if I was ever to return to the IOW!

Hi Hannah, We hope you do return to the IOW. We have lots of people who come for weddings and don't get to see the Island. You don't get much 'free time' with weddings! Kind regards Sarah More

Gareth and Sarah are the wonderful hosts in this superb guest house. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a range of specials for breakfast which changed daily (I heartily recommend the waffles!) and my husband, who is vegetarian, was well catered for with a full veggie hot breakfast. Our primary reason for choosing OSGH was its... More

Booked this guest house for a one night stay and what a gem. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our rooms which were modern clean and well above any expectations. The whole stay was perfect and breakfast was A1. Would definitely recommend and will be returning on my next business trip to the IOW.

Hi Shane, Thank you for taking the time to review us. It's very difficult sometimes to make an impression on people who stay so briefly! So we're really glad you were comfortable and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Sarah More

We stayed at OSGH whilst visiting close friends and to attend a Wedding. Sarah and Gareth run a lovely B & B. After a long journey, with delays on motorways and the ferry, we arrived to a warm welcome. Sarah brought us a pot of tea and homemade biscuits, and we sat in the lounge to relax for an hour.... Earlier this month, we visited the Old Shanklin Guest House for the third time. We were not due to check in until the evening on a Thursday and, when we arrived, Gareth and Sarah were both at the door to greet us like old friends! We had three relaxing nights in their Bonchurch Suite (highly recommended because of the extremely... More

We stayed a couple of weeks ago & were not disappointed. A warm welcome from Sarah in her lovely hallway....which has great flooring! Then up to the beautiful 'Bonchurch suite' room to relax in. Have not stayed anywhere with such a large bathroom....could it possibly be too big! The bed was nice & comfy & so to the sofa. Plenty... More

Thank you both for your review. The bathroom is rather large! We have ideas afoot to space things out a bit when we refurbish that bathroom, there's plenty of room. We certainly look forward to seeing you again. Sarah More

The accommodation was spotless, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and imaginative - 'specials' every morning giving lots of choice and the opportunity to try something new. Perfect location near to bars, restaurants, the beach and the coastal path. But services passing the end of the road to access the rest of the island.

Thank you Nigel. It was lovely to meet you both. We are very lucky to have such a good bus service - it gives great views of the Island - and lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. We're really pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Sarah OSGH More
