Holidaying with my parents, we happened across this lovely-looking hotel and, as I wanted to treat my father to a special Father's Day meal, I booked the restaurant (which looked lovely) in advance. Firstly, we were left sticky, dirty menus. After 10 minutes, someone appeared behind the bar. I queued up to order a bottle of wine but was not... more

A great 4 night stay with a group about 30 strong. Fit and experienced people - know good value when we see it. Friendly, helpful and efficient management and staff. Great chefs and food. Pity about the muzak in the restaurant - evne at breakfast. more

My partner and our 2 friends had booked another hotel in the centre of Shanklin for a birthday weekend. When we booked into this hotel we were absolutely shocked and disapointed by its shabbiness and complete lack of value for money. We had 2 options: Try and book another hotel or return home. After vsisting the Tourist Centre we were... more

All aspects of our stay here were good.We were given a tour of the hotel on our arrival which even included a voluntary visit to the kitchens(excellent!). Although the hotel wasn't very busy, the attention to detail and genuine attempts to look after our needs was impressive. Our experience with all aspects of the restaurant were good. We found it hard... more

The hotel is great, the food was good, the room excellent but the whole trip was marred by the most awful manager/onwer of the hotel. He actually tried to force his way into our hotel room scaring my partner. This is totally unacceptable. He completely ruined our stay at the hotel but judging by his attitude me saying that will... more

My wife, son and I recently stayed at this Hotel, for a 2 night break with my daughter and her two children. We enjoyed the personal attention of the owners and their family who couldn't have done more to accomodate us , in more ways than one. We felt as if we were part of their family. Service is friendly,... more

We wanted to take a short break in the Spring and decided to visit the Isle of Wight. We thus searched the internet and read reviews of various hotels; after weighing our options we chose Bourne Hall Country Hotel for our short break. As a result, we had one of the most enjoyable and memorable stay (for the right reasons!)... more

We've just returned from a 3 night stay at the Bourne Hall Hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were upgraded to a premier double room which was unusually large and had a king size 4 poster bed with stunning views over the garden & Shanklyn Bay in the distance. The staff were very friendly and even though we were the... more

Negative: we went to a spa (sauna, jacuzzi, indoor pool), which is located outside of the hotel 1.5 hours before the closing time. The staff, knowing that we are there, turned the lights off...They did not turn the lights back on, so we had to find our way out of the spa back to the hotel through the unlited garden.
