Just got back from a new year stay in Shanklin to see some good friends; we stopped at the Braemar and it was a good choice the owners where very friendly plus the cat. Ideal location for the village would not hesitate to stop again.

We originally booked a coach tour to stay in Sandown 2-5th October - 2 weeks before we were due to come the trip was cancelled due to lack of numbers, so we found the Braemar online. I was very apprehensive after reading the tripadvisor reviews but decided we wouldnt be spending much time there as we would be off exploring... More

I stayed here for a few days as a break. It is ideally located for the old village (2 minutes walk), where there are plenty of places to eat. The owners, Kelly and Mary, were very attentive to individual needs. This really is a gem of a place

Myself, my husband, son and parents all stayed here when we visited the garlic festival in August and we all had a great time. Yes the decor is not to everyone's taste but the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are quiet and very clean and the breakfast is amazing!! The couple running the b&b couldn't have been more welcoming... More

As a B&B, I would give it a moderate rate because of the balance rating on bed and breakfast. The double bed room is the smallest I have ever experienced in B&B hotels, on the other hand the breakfast is one of the best with a variety of choice. Because of the room size, in the 6 nights my husband... More

My family and I and we're welcomed with a friendly tone. The place does need much attention and is very run down. The TV was a 19" first edition flat screen and on the other side of a 25ft room. What really got to us was the first night the heating went off. When I put this to the owner... More

We were staying for a wedding, and just needed one night nearby to crash. I rang up in advance as I have back problems and needed a firm mattress, so we got a particular room and the bed was really comfortable. Very friendly service, and because my husband and I were returning from the wedding at different times, they also... More

Stayed here on weekend break with motorcycle club. Good location for Town & Beach. Car Park handy, check in simple and efficient and rooms, although dated and small-ish were comfortable. Some have access to balcony area. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered each night for next day and is served between 0815 and 0845. Good efficient service however and food was... More

KELLY S, Owner at Braemar Hotel Shanklin, responded to this review

This person entered our property alone initially and was clearly looking for problems. His first complaint was that the carpet had not been vacuumed properly. There was nothing on the carpet but my wife did it again to keep him happy. He then complained because he saw a hair in the shower and dust behind the wardrobe and chest of... More
