Staying in Shanklin and celebrating my Son's birthday on 15th April, we enjoyed a delicious evening meal, excellent service and very friendly polite staff. We enjoyed dishes of sirloin and rump steak also butterfly chicken all cooked to perfection. At the end of the meal we ordered brandy liquor coffees which, again were well presented and brought to our table... More

Our family has stayed here once before. The rooms have been renovated prior to this season so are very fresh, everything is clean and tidy. The downstairs bar decor is all nautical, and nicely themed. It has a very cosy feel and is a great place to settle down in the evening for a meal and/or a drink. The rooms... More

Popped in here for an evening meal, the older of the female barstaff (Scots I think) behind the bar to start with was not particularly friendly. She was training up a young girl, but considering I had never been in the place before, was brash when I ordered a drink and tried to order some food at the same time.... More

Family Day Out In Shanklin And We Decided To Treat Ourselves To Lunch Out At The Steamer Inn. I usually always opt for a roast and I decided on the beef , I'm disappointed to say it was really not nice , the beef was basically inedible , the rest was not great ( burnt potatoes and yorkshire puddings )... This restaurant was recommended to us by friends and family to take guests visiting the island to for dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant was in a beautiful location and we really felt we'd made a good choice. The waiter who served us came over to let us know they had run out of lasagne, while we checked the menu... What can I say? Been here many times and every time has been a good 'un. The food is good quality, decent quantity pub grub. Not hard to see why it's packed during the season, but nice to see that they maintain their standards when the town isn't so busy. Yummy!

We stayed at the Steamer Inn for two nights in July. The room was very comfortable and even though it was over a bar there was not much noise at all. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. The price of the room included breakfast which was a proper good selection. We also ate in the evening and... More

We organised a last minute trip to IOW and booked the Steamer for accommodation. When we arrived we were well received in the bar shown to our rooms which were basic, clean and more importantly the bed was comfortable. The food was at the higher end cost wise but large portions and very tasty. Throughout the weekend the staff were... More

We came for a meal in the evening. On asking for a table for 7 the waiter looked around, shrugged, and then reluctantly took a reserved sign for 2 hours later off a table for 4 and told us that would do. He then went and got one extra chair, plonked it down and left. We had to rearrange the... More
